This position will be responsible for developing and executing a comprehensive grant development strategy that enhances the impact and reach of the CAP’s mission to serve patients, pathologists, and the public through education, advocacy, and research, as well as the Foundation’s mission of improving patient care through philanthropic initiatives. This role is crucial in aligning funding opportunities with the CAP and CAP Foundation’s missions, ensuring that both entities have the resources needed to fulfill their commitments to improving healthcare and advancing the field of pathology. Specific Duties Primary duties and responsibilities: + Grant Strategy Development: + Collaborate with the Executive Director to develop a cohesive grant strategy that supports both the CAP’s 501c6 educational, research, and advocacy efforts and the 501c3 philanthropic initiatives. + Identify and prioritize funding opportunities that align with the CAP’s professional programs, including education outreach, research funding, advocacy campaigns, and the development of innovative tools and resources for pathologists. + Grant Writing and Submission: + Prepare high-quality, well-researched, and persuasive grant proposals, letters of inquiry, and funding applications for both the CAP and the CAP Foundation . + Develop detailed project proposals, budgets, and supporting documentation that clearly articulate the goals, strategies, and anticipated outcomes of CAP’s professional programs and CAP Foundation’s philanthropic projects. + Ensure that all grant proposals reflect the unique objectives and compliance requirements of the respective entities, tailoring applications to meet the specific needs of the CAP’s educational and research initiatives, as well as the Foundation’s patient facing programs. + Expansion of Grant Funding Sources: + Research and engage with a diverse range of funding sources, including government agencies, private foundation, and corporate grant opportunities that support professional education, healthcare quality improvement, and public health. + Develop a robust pipeline of grant opportunities that support the CAP’s professional development initiatives, research grants, and advocacy efforts, as well as the Foundation’s community focused programs like See, Test & Treat ®. + Facilitate collaboration and communication between funders and internal teams, ensuring that grant expectations are clearly communicated and met. + Grant Administration and Compliance: + Manage the administration of grants across both the CAP and the CAP Foundation, including tracking submission status, reporting deadlines, and deliverables. + Ensure strict compliance with all grant requirements and regulations, maintaining detailed records of grant activities and providing comprehensive reporting to funders. + Monitor grant-funded projects to ensure that both CAP’s initiatives and CAP Foundation’s programs are implemented in accordance with the terms of the grant and that all reporting obligations are met. + Prepare and deliver dashboard management reporting on the status of the grants and the related outcomes. Knowledge/Skills Required/Preferred Personal: + Demonstrates ability to work independently, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Professional: + Strong knowledge of the healthcare, education, or research sector is highly desirable. + Ability to communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders, including senior leadership, funders, and program staff. Technical: + Proficiency in grant management software and Microsoft Office Suite. + Exceptional writing, editing, and project management skills with a keen attention to detail. Education/Experience Education + Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as Nonprofit Management, Public Health, Education, Communications, or related discipline. Experience + Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in grant writing and development, with a proven track record of securing significant funding for both professional and philanthropic organizations. Additional Criteria Candidates must reside within a reasonable commute to the Northfield, IL office. Salary Range: $82,703 - $105,425 “The College of American Pathologists requires all new hires in customer-facing roles to be fully vaccinated for COVID-19 prior to the first date of employment.
