**JOB QUALIFICATIONS** **:**
EDUCATION:
High school diploma is required. Technical degree required in such disciplines as Computer Engineering, CPA, etc.
EXPERIENCE:
Five years related experience and/or training, and 2 years related management experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
JOB KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:
Must have advanced knowledge in network administration and engineering. Knowledge in fiber optics including high-capacity networks including DWDM, 100gbps, 400gbps, and 800gbps interfaces. Extensive high-level understanding of the following skills and their application in a network environment are necessary:
+ TCP/IP
+ Fiber optic cabling
+ IPv4 and IPv6
+ Network security
+ Process improvement
+ MPLS topologies
+ Routers
+ VoIP
+ Multicast
+ VLAN
+ Linux operating systems
**MAJOR JOB TASKS:**
+ Oversees the day-to-day operations of the network required to provide data, voice, and video service to subscribers as well as back-office integration required for administrative support.
+ Responsible for day-to-day security of networks infrastructure and service provider applications.
+ Designs and implements network connectivity for layer 2 and 3 LAN and WAN connections, including documentation of network connections.
+ Provides support best practices to subscriber support department to ensure optimum subscriber experience.
+ Develop maintenance plans including establishing procedures for maintenance windows to minimize downtime for subscribers for all network devices for implementation of firmware and software updates and security patches and features.
+ Design and implement a plan to obtain the highest level of network uptime by creating network reliability targets and create a reporting process for accountability.
+ Ensure positive subscriber experience by planning for network capacity to minimize or eliminate congestion on the network.
+ Maintains a safe working environment by adhering to policies, procedures, and regulations.
+ Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities may include but not limited to interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance, rewarding, and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
+ Perform any other related duties as required or assigned.

**EXTERNAL RELATIONSHIPS:**
+ Frequent contacts with general public, patrons, or other outside representatives, wherein the manner of handling these contacts has a bearing on the organization's position and operation.
**OTHER REQUIREMENTS:**
+ Must be able to operate all equipment normally found in an office environment. Must have valid driver's license without violation, which would prohibit insurability.
+ Must be able to write reports, business correspondence, and policy/procedure manuals, and effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public. Must be able to apply advanced mathematical concepts such as exponents, logarithms, quadratic equations, and permutations. Ability to apply mathematical operations to such tasks as frequency distribution, determination of test reliability and validity, analysis of variance, correlation techniques, sampling theory, and factor analysis. Must be able to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

+ Normal office conditions, some irregular hours may be required. Continuously exposed to one or two elements such as noise, intermittent standing, walking: and occasional pushing, carrying, or lifting.
