We look forward to hearing from you! **Position Highlights** A Brief Overview Responsible for the inspection, mechanical repair, preventative and maintenance of facilities and assets including, but not limited to, buildings, grounds, mechanical, physical, and stationary equipment, machines, and vehicles. What you will do + Performs building inspections, replacing parts, cleaning, and overseeing heating, cooling, and plumbing, outdoor grounds & landscaping, and snow & ice removal all which insures a safe facility environment. + Performs basic carpentry and maintenance work for the facility and fixtures including but not limited to, painting and preparation work, remodeling projects, plumbing, electrical, and HVAC. + Performs and completes routine repair and maintenance on machines and/or equipment including, but not limited to, beds, wheelchairs, kitchen equipment, furniture, office equipment, or other related mechanical devices on a scheduled basis or as requested. + Responsible for monitoring, operating, inspecting, repairing, testing, and cleaning all equipment and related activities that bring steam or chilled water to air handling systems, sterilizers, etc. + Verification of work order assignments and priorities, and completes as assigned. Keeps work areas neat and orderly. + Performs and manages preventative maintenance program of facility building, grounds, equipment, and vehicles. Creates PM schedule to complete PM rounds, maintains logs and records of servicing according to the PM program. + Responds to facility emergency codes and demonstrates sound understanding of emergency protocols. Assists with, conducts, and documents drills such as fire, emergency weather, etc., participates in safety inspections and lockdown procedures. Informs leadership of safety concerns and makes recommendations regarding facility safety issues. Insures proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and safety policies and procedures. + Remove equipment, trash and hazardous waste material according to local, state, federal, and OSHA guidelines. May be responsible for recyclable materials and disposal of confidential documents. Maintains records of all state and OSHA regulations as well as medical waste records. + Work collaboratively with contractors and vendors to ensure contracted work is completed thoroughly and timely. + Develop and implement preventive maintenance schedules to reduce downtime and increase equipment longevity. + Manage the maintenance department's budget, track expenditures, and control costs while ensuring the department's needs are met. + Manage large-scale maintenance projects and facility upgrades. + Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, inspections, and inventory. + Provide regular reports on the status of equipment, systems, and facilities to upper management. + Identify areas for improvement in maintenance procedures and systems. + Implement strategies to optimize operational efficiency and reduce maintenance costs. + May be assigned other tasks within the scope of responsibility such as off-site errands, patient transports, deliveries, minor housekeeping, inventory, parts ordering, etc. + Participate in regular facility meetings (department managers, safety committee, trauma meetings, etc) + Training all new staff on fire safety, oxygen tank safety, and building orientation, etc. Essential Qualifications The individual must be able to work the hours specified.
