Manager of Production & Resource Planning

Job Description:

Salad and Go is seeking a Manager of Production & Resource Planning who will be responsible for overseeing and optimizing the production scheduling, resource allocation, and inventory management processes in a food production facility. This role ensures that production goals are met efficiently while maintaining high standards of quality, cost-effectiveness, and compliance with regulatory requirements.

The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, a proactive approach to problem-solving, and experience in production planning within a high-volume food manufacturing environment.

As the Manager of Production & Resource Planning, you will be responsible for:

Production Planning:

Develop and manage production schedules to ensure on-time delivery of finished goods.

Collaborate with production teams to balance workload and meet demand fluctuations.

Monitor and adjust schedules to address unplanned changes such as equipment downtime or material shortages.

Lead initiatives to improve production planning processes, reduce downtime, and enhance operational efficiency.

Resource Allocation:

Plan and allocate resources (e.g., labor, equipment, raw materials) to optimize production efficiency.

Inventory Management:

Work closely with procurement and inventory teams to ensure raw materials and packaging supplies are available to meet production needs.

Implement strategies to minimize waste, reduce inventory holding costs, and maintain optimal stock levels.

Oversee inventory tracking systems to ensure accuracy and accountability.

Data Analysis and Reporting:

Analyze production data and key performance indicators (KPIs) to identify trends, inefficiencies, and areas for improvement.

Prepare reports on production performance, resource utilization, and planning effectiveness for senior leadership.

Develop forecasting models to predict demand and production capacity needs.

Team Leadership:

Supervise and mentor a team of planners, schedulers, and analysts.

Provide training and development opportunities to enhance team skills and capabilities.

Foster a collaborative and solutions-oriented work environment.

Minimum Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering, Operations Management, or a related field.

5–7 years of experience in production planning, resource management, or supply chain within a food manufacturing environment.

Proficiency in production planning software and tools (e.g., ERP systems, MRP systems).

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a focus on data-driven decision-making.

Knowledge of food safety regulations and compliance requirements (HACCP, FDA, USDA).

Experience with Lean, Six Sigma, or other process improvement methodologies (certification preferred).

Excellent organizational, leadership, and communication skills.
