If so, the CAS Administrative Support Team (AST) has an exciting opportunity for you to help lead shared services into the future. CAS AST was established in 2011 as a center of expertise completing transactional work in HR, payroll, invoice payments, purchasing, and foreign national visa applications on behalf of College of Arts and Sciences’ academic, research, and arts units. In the ensuing 14 years, AST has grown in both scope and size, but its goal has remained constant: to provide prompt, accurate and insightful service that allows unit staff to focus on the higher-level, mission-critical needs of their departments. As our name states, we achieve high standards by working together in an integrated team culture. We gather daily for team huddles and collaborate freely on all transaction types. We stop transactional work periodically for team workshops to take deeper dives into areas of interest or concern. We participate in professional development opportunities, both individually and as a group, and share insights and lessons learned. The pace of our work is brisk, and performance expectations are high. The **Manager of Program Operations** is responsible for the daily oversight and strategic development of AST’s HR/Payroll group. Reporting to AST’s Associate Director for Personnel Services, the Manager of Program Operations’ duties range from the equitable allocation of staff resources, to the development and delivery of group training, to data analysis and strategy development, to creative problem solving and policy enforcement. Together with the Associate Director for Personnel Services, the Manager of Program Operations participates fully in AST Leadership, bringing the perspectives of the HR/Payroll group to broader, strategic discussions affecting the team as a whole. **DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES** + 20% Address issues escalated from team members; further escalate to associate director as needed + 20% Coordinate new employee hiring and onboarding; serve as supervisor and mentor to 7 group staff members, including Shared Services Analysts and Shared Services Specialists + 20% Develop and implement group training, including cross-training, ensuring that staff meet the highest standards of competency in pertinent transactional and policy areas + 15% Based on careful analysis of available data and working collaboratively with group staff, identify and address performance gaps and opportunities for process improvement + 10% Oversee staff’s daily ticket triage activities, ensuring the equitable distribution or work among staff resources + 5% Working closely with Associate Director, identify areas for AST-wide policy and process improvements and propose solutions to Leadership + 5% Participate in College-level meetings and on-line chats as requested by the Associate Director + 5% Projects as assigned **MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS** + Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience + 3 years of experience working in a team environment, to include a minimum of one year supervisory experience **Equivalent education/experience will substitute for all minimum qualifications except when there are legal requirements, such as a license/certification/registration.** **ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS** + SME-level competency in Workday HR/Payroll business processes + Thorough comprehension of pertinent University policies + Demonstrated competency in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables **DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS** + Working knowledge of continuous process improvement tools and strategies + Demonstrated competency using ticket management systems **Application Process:** The application process may include completion of a variety of online assessments to obtain additional information that will be used in the evaluation process.
