Compensation

The compensation target range for this role is:

$89,300 - $105,000

Job Summary

The Environmental Manager will lead the environmental programs at Purple. These programs include SPCC, SWPPP, Waste Management, emergency response and other appropriate programs. This position is hands-on and will require a leader/doer to support our environmental health and sustainability efforts. The person will need to have a proactive approach to employee engagement, leadership, and regulators that continually improve the company's environmental performance. This position requires some travel since it has multisite responsibility.

Job Description

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Training, coaching, leading employee-powered teams.

Monitoring and evaluation of current systems.

Conduct on-site inspections.

Integrate environmental practices into operational processes.

Collect and test samples of process discharges.

Assess potential impact specific processes may have on the environment.

Develop permitting strategy and implement.

Establish a risk-based management system framework.

Prepare reports and legal documents to support environmental programs.

Facilitate incident management, root cause identification and application of corrective actions.

Ensure company and contractors are complying with all local, regional, state, and federal environmental regulations including Air, SWPPP, SPCC, Wastewater, Waste.

Implement and maintain spill and emergency response

Help develop EHS staff.

Develop company aspects and impacts KPIs.

Waste characterization and management, including applying the Four Rs: Reduce, Reuse, Recycle, Recover.

Develop and manage a sustainability program including product life cycle analysis, sourcing, reporting.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

Bachelor's degree in environmental science, environmental engineering, chemistry, or a related field. Master's degree a plus.

Requires a minimum of 5 to 7 years of experience in an environmental, health, and safety, related discipline and technical/practical knowledge of EHS regulations, codes, and guidelines.

Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel, Outlook).

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIREMENTS

Knowledgeable about current environmental regulations and potential regulatory changes.

Experience establishing an EMS.

Health and Safety experience a plus.

Demonstrated ability to recognize, evaluate, and recommend controls for workplace hazards.

Demonstrated ability to determine training needs, organize and/or conduct training.

Strong interpersonal and communication skills required, including the ability to interact with outside regulatory agencies.

ascending or descending ladders, stairs, scaffolding, ramps, poles and the like;

moving self in different positions to accomplish tasks in various environments;

communicating with others to exchange information.

Physical Activities may constantly include:

remaining in a stationary position, often standing for prolonged periods;

moving about to accomplish tasks or moving from one worksite to another;

adjusting or moving objects up to 50 pounds in all directions;

repeating motions that may include the wrists, hands and/or fingers;

operating machinery and/or power tools, depending on position;

depending on position may include operating motor vehicles or heavy equipment;

assessing the accuracy, neatness and thoroughness of the work assigned.

Environmental Conditions may occasionally include:

low or high temperatures; or outdoor elements such as precipitation and wind.

Environmental Conditions may constantly include:

noisy environments;

or hazardous conditions.
