As a Manager of Software Engineering at JPMorgan Chase within the Commercial and Investment Banking (CIB) - Payments Technology, you lead multiple teams and manage day-to-day implementation activities by identifying and escalating issues and ensuring your team’s work adheres to compliance standards, business requirements, and tactical best practices.

Job responsibilities

Drive the delivery of standard software solutions, design, development, technical troubleshooting, and production support Communicate proactively and effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders across the globe Manage teams, projects and technical aspects  Write secure and high-quality code using the syntax of at least one programming language with limited guidance Design, develop, code, and troubleshoot with consideration of upstream and downstream systems and technical implications Apply technical troubleshooting to break down solutions and solve technical problems of basic complexity Gather, analyze, and draw conclusions from large, diverse data sets to identify problems and contribute to decision-making in service of secure, stable application development Learn and apply system processes, methodologies, and skills for the development of secure, stable code and systems Collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders  Add to team culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and respect

 

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or equivalent At least 5 years of hands-on practical experience in system design, application development, testing, and operational stability Experience in developing, debugging, and maintaining code in a large corporate environment with one or more modern programming languages and database querying languages Demonstrable ability to code in one or more languages i.e. Java/J2EE, Python, Go, React Experience across the whole Software Development Life Cycle Exposure to agile methodologies such as CI/CD, Application Resiliency, and Security Hands-on experience with Spring Boot, REST APIs, React, Node, Typescript and relational databases Experience with team management
