As a Manager of Software Engineering at JPMorgan Chase within the Consumer and community banking technology team, you lead multiple teams and manage day-to-day implementation activities by identifying and escalating issues and ensuring your team’s work adheres to compliance standards, business requirements, and tactical best practices.

Job responsibilities

Provides guidance to immediate team of software engineers on daily tasks and activities Sets the overall guidance and expectations for team output, practices, and collaboration Anticipates dependencies with other teams to deliver products and applications in line with business requirements Manages stakeholder relationships and the team’s work in accordance with compliance standards, service level agreements, and business requirements Creates a culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and respect for the team members and prioritizes diverse representation

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 5+ years applied experience in Java based technologies and AWS. Experience leading technology projects Strong understanding of cloud computing technologies mainly Kubernetes and AWS.  Hands-on practical experience in system design, application development, testing, and operational stability Proficient in coding in Java 8+ Proficient in modern technologies including Spring Boot, Restful Microservices, EKS, and API Practical AWS cloud native experience with Terraform. Knowledge of asynchronous messaging such as Kafka, RabbitMQ etc. Experience with Relational or NoSQL Datastores such as Cassandra, PostgreSQL, GAIA Oracle Services Experience in developing, debugging, and maintaining code in a large corporate environment with one or more modern programming languages and database querying languages. Solid understanding of agile methodologies such as CI/CD, Applicant Resiliency, and Security
