Our focus is reducing the environmental risk posed by 56 million gallons of radioactive and chemical waste stored in 177 underground tanks on the Hanford Site located in Richland, WA. Join us today and be a part of history! Washington River Protection Solutions (WRPS) seeks a Manager to lead the Tank Farm Projects Strategic Programs department. This department is responsible for the development, planning, and management of expense projects in support of DOE Order 413.3B Capital Asset Projects, the procurement and delivery of critical spares to support Direct Feed Low Activity Waste (DFLAW) operations and the strategic initiatives/contracts supporting waste processing, environmental compliance, transportation regulations and land disposal requirements necessary for final waste disposition. This position will perform Project Management (PM) and Control Account Manager (CAM) duties for the development, design, installation/construction, testing and readiness declaration of projects that support the River Protection Project (RPP) mission. This position is responsible for managing and directing a variety of activities and personnel to support the successful commissioning, startup, and transition to operations of systems and projects, as well as planning activities related to waste management for the direct feed low-activity waste (DFLAW) program. This position manages the execution and personnel in the implementation of projects supporting the West Area Risk Management capital project, TSCR/AMPS/WARM ion exchange column procurement, procurement of spares and consumables supporting WTP initial operations, and studies, technical analysis ands scoping evaluations for the integrations of West Area and East Area waste treatment and disposal. This position reports to the Tank Farms Projects Manager and plays a key role in DFLAW program integration. Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following: * Develop and maintain productive working relationships with DOE staff, including the Federal Project Director (FPD); * Lead development and negotiation of Contract Change Proposals (CCPs), Baseline Change Requests (BCRs) and Performance Based Incentives (PBIs); * Communicate project requirements to other WRPS organizations and integrating their efforts to achieve successful project delivery; * Deliver products within baseline cost and schedule parameters; * Develop and maintain schedules, estimates at completion, variance analysis and explanations; * Develop and present monthly reports for multiple customers; * Review and approve contractor invoices; * Monitor scope and implement change management processes; and * Perform other duties as assigned. Please Note: This position is being advertised under the current Tank Operations Contractor, Washington River Protection Solutions (WRPS). However, now that transition activities have begun a candidate selected for employment may be hired under the incoming contractor, Hanford Tank Waste Operations & Closure (H2C) contract. Required Qualifications Grade 22: Bachelor's degree in related discipline and 15 years' directly related experience or equivalent combination of education and/or experience. Grade 23: Bachelor's degree in related discipline and 17-20 years' directly related experience or equivalent combination of education and/or experience. Note the essential duties for this grade level are like that of the previous grade level, however the scope of responsibility is larger, and the expected level of performance is increased. Desired Qualifications Desired Qualifications * Strong understanding and experience working within the WRPS administrative processes for design, work package planning, construction, testing and readiness declaration. * Current WRPS PM and CAM qualifications. * Demonstrated ability to meet aggressive schedules and complete PBIs. * Demonstrated performance managing and delivering all aspects of a project that upgrades the Tank Farm System and its infrastructure, including design, procurement (including fabrication) work package planning, construction, testing, turnover and readiness. * Demonstrated ability to prepare and process BCRs and CCPs. * Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate, interact and integrate work activities with the customer (DOE-ORP and DOE-HQ), DOE's stakeholders and the WRPS' regulators. * Knowledge of tank farms waste transfer systems. Compensation & Benefits In accordance with the company's philosophy on compensation for exempt and salaried non-exempt employees, WRPS takes into consideration a variety of factors when determining initial salary to include assigned job scope and responsibility, a candidate's qualifications as compared to internal comparators performing in a similar role, and the external labor market. A salary offer will be made within the targeted hiring range posted. Note a candidate's prior salary history will not be taken into consideration.
