This position will be responsible for directing all administrative aspects of the initiative, ensuring its successful deployment across the Academic Units. The Manager will work closely with senior leadership, cross-functional teams, and key stakeholders to ensure the initiative’s goals align with the organization’s mission, values, and strategic priorities. **Responsibilities** **Essential Functions:** 1. Forecasts, develops and implements policies and procedures in the areas of service delivery, staff management and budgetary goals and objectives that are consistent with University of Utah’s policies. 2. Markets and promotes new and existing programs and services to internal and external constituencies. 3. Participates in University-wide committees to establish high-quality service standards and administrative plans and policies. 4. Facilitates cooperative and collaborative community and institutional relationships. 5. Ensures satisfaction by analyzing complaints, concerns and suggestions and providing appropriate follow-through. 6. Develops departmental strategies consistent with the assigned departments continuous quality improvement program. 7. Ensures competency of staff through the development and/or presentation of educational programs and through on going staff performance evaluations. **Key Responsibilities:** **Project Management** + Lead the planning, design, and execution of wellbeing programs across multiple departments or locations, ensuring consistency and scalability. + Develop and maintain project timelines, budgets, and resource allocations, monitoring progress against milestones and adjusting as necessary. + Oversee the coordination of cross-functional teams, including HR, communications, operations, and external partners, to support the initiative’s success. **Stakeholder Engagement & Communication** + Serve as the primary point of contact for all wellbeing initiative-related inquiries, ensuring effective communication across all levels of the organization. + Facilitate regular meetings with key stakeholders to track progress, gather feedback, and identify opportunities for continuous improvement. + Develop and implement communication strategies to engage employees and raise awareness of available wellbeing resources and programs. **Data Management & Reporting** + Oversee the collection and analysis of data to measure the success and impact of wellbeing initiatives. + Regularly report on program outcomes, including utilization rates, employee satisfaction, and other key performance indicators (KPIs) to senior leadership. + Use data insights to make informed recommendations for program adjustments, enhancements, or expansions. **Policy & Compliance** + Ensure the wellbeing initiative complies with relevant regulations, policies, and best practices related to health, safety, and employee wellness. + Develop and implement policies and procedures to support the wellbeing program’s goals, ensuring consistent and equitable access to resources. **Budgeting & Resource Allocation** + Manage the financial aspects of the wellbeing initiative, including budget creation, expense tracking, and ensuring optimal resource allocation. + Identify and pursue funding opportunities or partnerships to enhance the initiative’s impact and sustainability. **Continuous Improvement** + Stay informed about industry trends, emerging wellness practices, and employee wellbeing research to ensure the initiative remains innovative and effective. + Regularly assess the wellbeing initiative’s effectiveness, gather feedback from employees, and make adjustments to improve the program over time. **Minimum Qualifications** Bachelor’s degree in a related area or equivalency (one year of education can be substituted for two years of related work experience). Four to six years of progressively more responsible management experience. Background knowledge of hiring department’s area of specialization in order to analyze, plan and draw conclusions for recommendations to superiors. Demonstrated leadership skills in planning and directing employees and processes in order to effectively monitor and develop subordinates and to ensure the smooth operation of department. Completion of provided supervisory training within one year of employment may be required. Master’s degree in a related area may be preferred. Applicants must demonstrate the potential ability to perform the essential functions of the job as outlined in the position description. **Preferences** **Required Qualifications:** + Bachelor’s degree in Public Health, Health Policy, Public Policy, Urban Planning, Social Work, Organizational Development, Business Administration, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred). + 4-6 years of progressively more responsible management experience focused on wellness, program management, or organizational development, or possess a Masters degree in a relevant field. + Background knowledge of wellbeing as a care concept in order to analyze, plan and draw conclusions for recommendations to superiors. + Demonstrated leadership skills in planning and directing employees and processes in order to effectively monitor and develop subordinates and to ensure the smooth operation of department. + Completion of provided supervisory training within one year of employment may be required + Applicants must demonstrate the potential ability to perform the essential functions of the job as outlined in the position description. **Desired Qualifications:** + Proven experience managing large-scale, systemwide initiatives, ideally in a complex, multi-location environment. + Strong project management skills, including proficiency in project management tools and methodologies. + Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels of the organization. + Demonstrated ability to analyze data and report on program outcomes to senior leadership. + Knowledge of relevant wellbeing frameworks, policies, and industry best practices. + Experience managing budgets and financial resources for large-scale programs. **Personal Attributes:** + Strong leadership and team management capabilities with the ability to motivate and inspire cross-functional teams. + High degree of empathy, emotional intelligence, and a passion for promoting employee health and wellbeing. + Ability to think strategically while managing day-to-day operations effectively. + Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills, particularly in complex, dynamic environments. + Adaptable and resilient, able to navigate challenges and setbacks with a solutions-oriented approach. **Type** Benefited Staff **Special Instructions Summary** **Additional Information** The University is a participating employer with Utah Retirement Systems (“URS”).
