Manager of Training and Education - Clinical Systems

POSITION SUMMARY

 

The Manager of Training & Education plays a pivotal role in the development, execution, and continuous improvement of training programs related to clinical systems. This role is responsible for ensuring that training initiatives are comprehensive, user-focused, and aligned with the strategic objectives of the organization. The Manager will lead efforts in creating educational resources, assessing training effectiveness, and supporting end-user adoption of clinical systems.

This position requires on-call responsibilities and on-site responsibilities (ex: On-site presence during go lives, rounding activities, select meetings/trainings, and as determined by request/need)

 

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION: Bachelor’s Degree Required. In lieu of Bachelor’s degree, additional four years of experience required.

LICENSE/CERTIFICATION: Valid Driver’s License

EXPERIENCE: 

Minimum 3 years training, education and end-user support experience, plus a minimum of 3 years clinical experience required. (In lieu of Bachelor’s Degree, a total of 7 years of experience required) Demonstrated ability to assess training needs, adapt programs, and drive continuous improvement Previous management experience preferred. Excellent written and oral communication skills required. Computer application experience preferred

 

 

PERFORMANCE EXPECTATIONS

 

Training Program Development and Oversight:

Develop and manage strategic training programs tailored to IT systems, ensuring they meet organizational goals and enhance end-user proficiency. Oversee the creation of advanced educational materials, including manuals, e-learning modules, and interactive tools, to support ongoing learning and optimal system utilization.

Assessment and Adaptation:

Evaluate and adapt training programs based on user feedback, changing needs, and technological advancements to ensure relevancy and effectiveness. Utilize performance metrics and user data to drive continuous improvement and refine training approaches.

End-User Support and Troubleshooting:

Lead hands-on support and troubleshooting efforts for complex issues, improving system adoption and overall performance. Collaborate with technical teams to address and resolve user challenges promptly.

User Adoption and Engagement:

Implement strategies to promote user adoption, demonstrate the value of clinical systems, and encourage best practices. Act as a change leader and advocate for technology integration, facilitating smooth transitions and fostering positive attitudes towards new systems.

Evaluation and Continuous Improvement:

Monitor and assess the effectiveness of training programs through feedback, evaluations, and performance metrics. Make data-driven recommendations for improvements and adjustments to enhance the quality and impact of training initiatives.

Collaboration and Advocacy:

Work closely with senior clinical leaders to identify knowledge gaps and areas requiring additional focus. Ensure that training and support programs are aligned with both organizational needs and individual learning requirements.

Communication and Resource Accessibility:

Ensure that training and support resources are accessible and effectively communicated to all relevant stakeholders. Advocate for user-centered informatics programs, ensuring they meet diverse learning needs and support the broader goals of the organization.

General Duties

Performs other duties as assigned. Embodies and promotes AtlantiCare values. Adheres to AtlantiCare policies and procedures.

 

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Potential for exposure to the hazards and risk of the hospital environment on an occasional basis, including exposure to infectious disease, hazardous substances, and potential injury. This position requires balancing, fingering, reaching, reading, driving, and speaking a majority of the time.  This position works with such equipment as computers, fax machine, copier, and telephone.  Occasional carrying up to 20 lbs. also required.
