Manager - Operations I

Location: Hartford, CT 

Job Schedule: Monday - Friday 7:30am - 4:30pm

Job Summary: Responsible for overseeing all aspects of a fleet of trucks. Their main task is to ensure the fleet is well-maintained, meets legal requirements and is operated efficiently to maximize productivity and minimize costs. They are responsible for managing and developing relationships with drivers to increase overall driver satisfaction and improve driver retention. They also work closely with drivers to coordinate deliveries and ensure they arrive at their destination on time. Communication, analytical and organizational skills are essential to succeed in this role.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Direct management of a staff of 20+ operations personnel and 250 drivers in operations to lead the department to accomplish company targets and goals
Oversee training of new supervisors and drivers, onboarding of new customer accounts Direct P&L responsibility Ensure budget and cost management Build and develop a strong staff Define, document and hold team accountable to account-specific SOPs Oversee the management and retention of 250 drivers to include good driver morale, high level of service to customers, safety and efficient and profitable utilization of equipment Oversee and ensure compliance in scheduling of all maintenance and repairs of all company-owned equipment Ensure on-time service to customer Maintain accurate billing and payroll to account-specific contracted rates and driver wages

This position will be eligible for an Annual Incentive Plan (AIP) with a target payout of 10% of the annual base salary.

Work locations of each position will be determined during the hiring process. Each work location will depend on business needs and the essential functions of the position.
