Plans and implements the PACS policies, procedures, and services in a medical facility. Responsible for developing work process of the medical pictures production, archiving, and transmitting. Ensures the PACS meets diagnostic requirements. Relies on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of tasks. Leads and directs the work of others. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected. Typically reports to head of a unit/department. Bachelor's degree with clinical background preferred. . Familiar with a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures. Work with Imaging Director in overseeing staff operation of imaging equipment such as x-ray machines, fluoroscopes, computed tomography, magnetic resonance imaging, nuclear medicine, echocardiogram an ultrasound. Manages Imaging department needs in absence of Imaging Director. Supports patient care by resolving radiology issues with physicians, radiologists, radiology technologists, and ancillary staff; improving and maintaining quality assurance program for department functions.
