**Responsibilities**
This position is responsible for oversight of the investigation and learning process when events occur that have caused harm or have the potential to cause harm, ensure learning from other parts of the enterprise as a result of events, and engagement of all staff with the commitment to patient safety and ensuring mitigation and prevention of harm to patients.
Job Responsibilities
+ Oversight for Event Reporting: Lead and manage a team of patient safety specialists through the event reporting process, ensuring timely and accurate documentation, review, and follow-up of patient safety events.
+ Review, Respond, and Learn: Develop and implement processes to review patient safety events, respond appropriately, and facilitate organizational learning to prevent future harm.
+ Risk Identification and Mitigation: Identify, assess, and mitigate risks of patient harm using best practices and evidence-based approaches in patient safety.
+ Staff Education: Educate staff on patient safety event reporting and related processes to foster a culture of safety and continuous improvement.
+ Committee Support: Serve as the secretary for the Patient Safety Subcommittee, ensuring effective communication and documentation of meetings and decisions.
+ Partnership: Partner with the Rochester Patient Safety Officer to represent and advocate for patient safety initiatives and improvements within the Rochester practice.
**Hybrid: candidate must be available for onsite work 50% or more; must live within driving distance to Mayo Clinic Campus**

**Qualifications**
Bachelor's degree required. Master's degree preferred. Three years' experience in healthcare required. Health care management experience preferred. Project management and performance improvement skills required. Ability to lead, coordinate, facilitate, and supervise projects, groups and situations. Ability to implement change and problem solve using critical thinking skills. Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing. Working knowledge of health care standards and regulations. Must be proficient with Microsoft Office (WORD, Powerpoint, VISIO, and Excel)and comfortable making presentations. If clinically licensed, license must be current. Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality (CPHQ) preferred. Certified in Risk Management (CHRM) preferred. Certified in Patient Safety or completed, relevant coursework preferred; e.g., Master of Patient Safety, IHI Patient Safety Officer Executive Training Program.
Qualifications
+ Bachelor’s degree in nursing, Healthcare Administration, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
+ Certified Professional in Patient Safety (CPSS) or Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality (CPHQ) or related advanced credential in Patient Safety preferred.
+ Experience in patient safety, quality improvement, or risk management within a healthcare setting.
+ Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex data and develop actionable insights.
+ Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to educate and influence staff at all levels of the organization.
+ Proven ability to work collaboratively within cross-functional teams and build effective partnerships.
+ Familiarity with patient safety regulations, accreditation standards, and best practices.
+ 3 years' experience in quality and/or patient safety in a healthcare setting

**Compensation Detail**
$103,001.60 - $154,544.00/ year; Education, experience and tenure may be considered along with internal equity when job offers are extended.
