Seed Manager – US Peanut Shelling
This is a Full-Time, Salary-Exempt Position

Position Summary:
                                                                                    
The successful candidate will work with the GM of US Shelling and the Procurement Team Leads to develop and execute a seed program that strategically supports the US Shelling business plan.

This role balances the grower demands to adequately supply dependable seed products across all growing regions while managing to strong financial performance for the seed business.

RESPONSIBILITIES (Partial Listing):Manage the US Shelling Seed P&LDesign supply plan, managing varietal and generational needs through collaboration with the procurement team. Execute supply side through both foundation seed source relationships, and seed grower base across procurement network.Manage demand side, with price setting discretion across all regions, aligning with business leader and procurement team.Own the execution of seed harvest/storage, shelling, treating and distribution, working with the procurement network and seed treating operation teams.Maintain all necessary license agreements and other legal documents for seed program.Support Procurement team on seed complaints, including field visits where necessary.Develop knowledge across the procurement team on all things related to the seed business.Develop a working relationship with seed treatment manufacturers to be aware of any new products becoming available.Get to know the peanut breeders in each growing region and attend their research field days.Other duties as assigned by managementQUALIFICATIONSBachelor’s degree preferred6+ years of directly related work experienceCommercial peanut industry experience preferredInterpersonal skills; good verbal and written communication requiredBasic math, accounting, and customer service proficiency requiredMust demonstrate strong decision making and problem solving skillsBasic knowledge of agricultural and farming practices preferredMust have ability to develop skills of forecasting, team building, behavior modeling, time management, presentation, product knowledge and negotiationSelf-confident, goal oriented, motivation for development of self and companyCompetent with common computer programs (Microsoft Office Suite, etc.)Local and overnight business travel requiredExcited about this role but don’t meet every requirement listed?
