Offers may vary depending on the circumstances of each case. **Summary:** The Manager, Pediatric Echocardiology Laboratory will be responsible for the oversight of all technical, educational, business and administrative functions of the Rush Center for congenital and Structural Heart Disease Echo Lab. Responsibilities include training and supervision of technical staff, evaluation and enhancement of laboratory operations, quality improvement, exam scheduling and staffing coordination, overseeing proper equipment maintenance, as well as maintaining lab accreditation(s) as necessary. Exemplifies the Rush mission, vision and values and acts in accordance with Rush policies and procedures. **Responsibilities:** 1. Manage Echo Lab procedures. 2. Perform high level echocardiograms for: regular working hours and on-call. 3. Perform special echocardiographic procedures, e.g. dobutamine stress tests and transesophageal ECHO’s. 4. Review, interpret, and supplement echocardiograms performed by other sonographers. 5. Review and approve scheduling of all procedures performed in echo lab. 6. Manage personnel. 7. Review and assess performance on a regular schedule. 8. Perform formal yearly review. 9. Manage daily schedules of personnel. 10. Maintain Echo Lab function. 11. Maintain supplies and equipment. 12. Order necessary materials. 13. Assist in preparation of annual budget. 14. Train personnel. 15. Assess skills of new and current sonographers. 16. Train new hires. 17. Retrain present staff including physicians in new procedures. 18. Conduct quality assurance program. 19. Conduct regular Q/A meetings with staff to review accuracy and completeness of studies. 20. Prepare monthly Q/A reports. 21. Manage sonographer education program. 22. Prepare curriculum for course. 23. Recruit and screen candidates. 24. Conduct training sessions. 25. Assess and formally grade performance. 26. Organize and conduct conference review of echocardiograms. 27. Review ECHO’s or editing and prepare same. 28. Present ECHO’s at conference. 29. Develop research projects. 30. Develop protocols. 31. Perform studies for research project. 32. Measure and analyze data. **Other information:** **Required Job Qualifications:** 1. American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (ARDMS) or Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI) certified in adult and pediatric echocardiography a. ARDMS registered in Adult and Pediatric Echocardiography (RDCS AE and PE) and ARDMS registered in Fetal Echocardiography (RDCS-FE) OR b. CCI registered (RCS and RCCS) and ARDMS Fetal registered (RDCS-FE) OR ability to obtain ARDMS Fetal Registration (RDCS-FE) within one year of hire 2. Minimum of 5 years sonography experience 3. Must have pediatric and congenital heart echocardiography experience 4. BLS Certification **Preferred Job Qualifications:** 1. Pediatric Echo Lab management, leadership, or supervisory experience 2.
