Job Description

Oversees ongoing activities which promote safe, rational, cost-effective drug therapy and further clinical pharmacy representation within Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta. Facilitates and manages day-to-day Pharmacy operations, including fiscal and human resources processes. Supports and ensures that comprehensive patient care services are provided.

5 years of hospital experience with 2 years of supervisory experience

Education

PharmD and/or Master of Science with American Society of Health-System Pharmacists accredited residency in pediatrics or general residency with experience in pediatrics

Certification Summary

Georgia licensed pharmacist or eligible

Job Responsibilities

Develops clinical pharmacy services that promote safe, rational, and cost-effective drug therapy.Maintains and provides drug information for healthcare professionals.Participates actively on various hospital committees.Participates in education of residents and students.Maintains individual competence and develops professional practice management skills.Contributes to the understanding of effective, safe, and economical drug use by supporting and conducting patient-related pediatric drug therapy research and/or sharing innovative hospital ideas within and outside the hospital as appropriate.Coordinates education and supports team participation in the provision of medication education to patients/parents, healthcare providers, and healthcare providers in training.Performs other responsibilities as required.Responsible for all aspects of managing and leading a team including: interviewing, hiring, training, developing, directing work and processes, managing performance, recognizing, and rewarding employees.Mentor team members to encourage personal and professional growth.Encourage ongoing skill development by providing opportunities for continued education.
