Manager Physician Development

Responsible for general management of the Physician Development and Strategic Alignment Department. Duties include strategic planning, development and implementation of alignment strategies to achieve System, Service Line and Medical Staff goals, objectives and long range plans. Focus on Northside MOB and Outpatient Services growth strategies and initiatives. Participate in community outreach.

 

PRACTICE ACQUISITION/STRATEGIC ALIGNMENT 

Working with Director, develops and implements objectives and plans to support the systems’ strategic alignment strategies. Interviews and selects Physician Development Staff. Works with consulting firms to initiate, perform and review fair market valuations to determine the best alignment strategy for each physician or physician group in relation to Northside’s goals. Presents Fair Market Value results and alignment proposals to physician’s. Negotiates terms with physician/s in order to prepare and present the offer. Prepares the offer of employment with assistance from the consulting firm and legal counsel and Initiates the onboarding process upon acceptance of offer. Initiates, follows and confirms credentialing process with Medical Staff office and Northside insurances. Engages legal counsel to prepare appropriate legal documents:  employment agreement, PSA agreement, Asset Purchase agreement, Lease assignments and/or property purchase. Coordinates with Practice Enterprise to initiate onboarding process including:  HR, IT, Compliance, Quality and Marketing. Coordinates with Practice Enterprise, RTG and Northside Project Management on potential new space or renovation or expansion of new and existing space. Participates in new practice onboarding. Prepares Needs Assessment, Compensation Coversheet and Contracting Report for internal distribution. Works with legal counsel to prepare and review documents for close. Ensures compliance within legal parameters. Reviews contracts on an ongoing basis to ensure compliance and to prepare for renewals. Initiates renewal process with valuation firms, Northside internal team and physician/s. Researches and evaluates healthcare market changes and recommends strategies for growth. 

PHYSICIAN RECRUITMENT

Recruits physicians as needed on a project basis as assigned by Director or necessitated by practice needs. Coordinates all recruitment efforts:  agenda, interview itinerary, travel and accommodations. Follows up with appropriate internal team to determine outcome of interviews. Engages consulting firm and legal counsel to perform FMV and to draft agreements. Initiates on boarding process with Northside internal teams.

 GENERAL MANAGEMENT 

Works with the Director in reviewing and evaluating market to develop and implement alignment strategies to achieve system goals and objectives. Develops and implements quality improvement plans in a manner consistent with the hospital’s Mission and Values statement; ensures compliance with all applicable regulatory and accreditation agencies. Practices proper safety techniques in accordance with hospital and departmental policies and procedures.  Immediately reports any mechanical or electrical equipment malfunctions, unsafe conditions, or employee/patient/visitor injury or accident to Manager.

KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES/LICENSE OR CERTIFICATION REQUIRED 

Bachelor’s Degree in health care or related field.. Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a hospital or healthcare setting with 2 years’ experience in a leadership role. Proven business development and/or sales skills. Excellent oral communication skills; ability to provide presentations to groups of varying sizes. Excellent written communication/business writing skills. Ability to work independently. Must possess a valid GA driver’s license and personal automobile.

KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES/LICENSE OR CERTIFICATION PREFERRED

Prior experience in health care administration. Knowledge and experience in the utilization of personal computers and the application of word processing and spreadsheet programs. Prior experience in health care marketing or related field.
