JOB TITLE: Manager , Planning AGENCY: Construction & Development DEPT/DIV: Planning /Planning Office REPORTS TO: Deputy Chief Development Officer - Planning WORK LOCATION: 2 Broadway HOURS OF WORK: 9:00 AM to 5:30 P M or as required (7.5HR/ DAY ) HAY POINTS: 511 SALARY RANGE: $ 84,200 to $109,562 DEADLINE: Open Until Filled S ummary Thi s position will serve a s a coordinating role across the Planning Department , with a particular focus on portfolio management, program formation, project management, cross-division coordination , and communications with internal and external stakeholders about Planning initiatives. The Manager would be responsible for ensuring that the Planning Department is aligned with MTA and C+D goals and priorities and that the results of these activities are presented in an accurate, understandable and timely manner. Responsibilities Ensure the Planning Dept is working as a team to achieve annual C+D goals . Help s et priorities to maximize agency-wide efforts. Work closely with the Deputy Chief Development Officer to develop and implement Planning 's strategic goals and objectives. Manage cross-agency coordination for Planning projects with NYC Transit, Long Island Railroad, Metro-North Railroad, Bridges & Tunnels. Manage p lanning special projects and initiatives. Ensure positive and productive relationships with internal and external stakeholders . Contribute to the formation and implementation of capital objectives and strategies for the MTA. Guide the development of long-range planning strategies, documents, projects, and communication tools , including those that support the MTA ' s Twenty-Year Needs Assessment and Five Year Capital Plan processes . Lead employee engagement initiatives and communication across the Planning Dept, including regular staff meetings. Manage staff and consultants to advance deliverables and provide timely and thoughtful feedback that improves the quality of deliverables. F acilitate improvements to capital planning process es, including the development of planning tools, improvements to d igital platforms , asset assessments, asset inventories, regional planning information, transit usage, climate risk data, and cost-effectiv en ess . Lia i se regularly with the President ' s Office and MTA HQ . Education and Experience Bachelor ' s degree in transportation planning, U rban P lanning, P ublic A dministration or a related field. Must have a minimum of five (5) years of related work experience.
