Manages the OD communication strategy and activation to develop awareness and drive a positive presence for OD in the community through effective public relations and community partnerships. Working cross-functionally with both agency and internal teams, supports OD’s business objectives by publically positioning OD as an industry leader, differentiating OD’s premium service, and highlighting our unique family culture. Drives positive coverage for the community growing the reputation as a leader in both business and as a good corporate citizen in the communities we operate. Leads internal communications efforts on corporate level initiatives and multi-media assets for functional training needs.
Primary Responsibilities
+ Lead the development of strategies, priorities, and goals for PR efforts in support of OD’s business objectives, positioning the company as a leader within the transportation industry
+ Assist in the management of the Communication Master Plan
+ Lead the media team in development of internal communication assets partnering with leadership and cross-functional team members to plan, schedule, and execute projects
+ Oversee the implementation of the ODTV system ensuring clear and timely communication to employees throughout the OD network
+ Lead and implement the corporate giving strategy and activation in conjunction with OD senior leadership to include building and fostering relationships with partners
+ Plan and track budgets ensuring proper allocation with leadership approved amounts, projects, and accounting periods
+ Lead the PR agency relationship and when necessary lead the search for a new PR agency partner
+ Write press releases, leadership speeches and letters
+ Monitor news and trade publications and stay up to date with trending topics, content opportunities, and potential communication issues
+ Lead media relations with various business leaders throughout the organization including but not limited to special media events, interviews, media training, thought leadership, and award submissions
+ Analyze effectiveness of PR campaigns on a monthly and annual basis with dashboards and reports
+ Develop and gain alignment to strategy brief and provide to PR agency to develop tactical plan
+ Evaluate OD’s community involvement efforts to determine impact, opportunities, and recommend future changes
Job Qualifications
Education:
+ Bachelor’s degree in Marketing/Communications or equivalent education and experience
Experience:
+ 6+ years of PR, internal and external communications experience
+ Project management skills working on multiple tasks simultaneously within timelines and budgets
+ Copywriting and editing experience for a variety of platforms.
+ Familiarity with media monitoring tools, clipping services, and dashboards
+ Strong decision making skills
+ Strong interpersonal and presentation skills
+ Strong verbal and writing skills
+ Working with virtual teams composed of internal and external members
+ Developing relevant and compelling content for a variety of channels
+ Proficient with Microsoft Office
+ Ability to analyze data and provide recommendations
+ Working knowledge of the transportation industry
