About the Role

 

BHP Iron Ore is one of the world's leading suppliers of iron ore. The Company's operations comprise of an integrated system of six inland mines, over 1,000 kilometers of rail and two separate port facilities: Nelson Point and Finucane Island at Port Hedland. Western Australia Iron Ore (WAIO) Asset Projects deliver a range of challenging projects across our Pilbara sites. Reporting to the Portfolio Manager, in this Delivery Manager role you will lead a Delivery team and a number of contractor partners to successfully deliver the Projects within required schedule, quality and budget. 

 

In order to be successful 

 

Lead a positive culture and demonstrate an overriding commitment to health, safety, environmental and community responsibility.  Monitor and manage project performance to deliver the project in line with safety, quality, schedule, budget and scope priorities.  Own and manage a number of contracts for execution of work, and through this ensure the work is delivered in line with stated requirements.  BHP's risk management framework will be strongly used to build a risk aware culture to support safe and productive performance outcomes, and you will drive implementation of project delivery strategies, methodologies, systems and execution plans.  Development and maintenance of strong working relationships with relevant internal and external stakeholders will be critical for success.  About You

 

Relevant experience such as project construction and/or iron ore mining, and in contractor management.  You will have demonstrated experience in leading a team and have exceptional communication and relationship building skills across a wide variety of stakeholders.  Demonstratable skills desired include risk management, project performance management, and project interface/integration management.  Tertiary qualification in an applicable discipline such as Engineering, Project Management, Business or Contracts is highly desirable. 

 

Location  

You will be based in Perth, Western Australia, in the multi award winning office tower – ‘City Square’. You will have stunning river views from your modern open plan office, state of the art facilities including virtual whiteboards and video conferencing facilities, 550 bicycle racks with ample lockers, showers and change room amenities and a large outdoor terrace with barbecues. Regular site travel to the Pilbara will occur requiring routine travel.
