Lead the team to develop and implement quality assurance and quality control processes for projects, ensuring compliance with standards, technical excellence, and continuous improvement to support successful project execution and delivery.
In this role you will
In this role, the individual will:
Create and establish quality assurance and quality control plans to ensure project deliverables meet specified standards and requirements.
Lead the implementation of quality audits, inspections, and tests throughout the project lifecycle to identify and address any deviations from quality standards and compliance to the project design scope or intent.
Collaborate with project teams, contractors, and embed quality management practices into all phases of the project.
Investigate and diagnose quality performance metrics, generating regular reports and updates for the Director Projects, Projects.
Identify potential quality risks and issues, initiating corrective actions and preventive measures to mitigate them.
Establish compliance with all relevant legal, regulatory, and company quality policies and standards.
Create and deliver training programs to project personnel on quality standards, procedures, and standard methodologies.
Collaborate with engineering, procurement, and construction and commissioning teams to establish materials, workmanship, and processes meet quality requirements.
Lead the documentation and reporting of quality activities, establishing accurate and comprehensive records are maintained.
Responsible for identifying relevant risks, initiating mitigation measures, and continuously investigating for risks.
At least 12 years of experience in a similar role with management of quality programs in complex mining projects Bachelor of Science in a relevant engineering field Quality Management Systems (QMS): Understanding frameworks like ISO 9001 and implementation /maintenance of the frameworks in applications Compliance: Knowledge of applicable laws, regulations, and standards that apply to the industry statistical Analysis: Proficiency in using statistical tools and techniques to analyze quality data and drive improvementsProcess Improvement Methodologies: Familiarity with methodologies Risk Management: Identifying, assessing, and mitigating risks related to quality
Significant experience in a professional advisory/support role for a medium to large corporation, with a substantial focus on risk management within the construction and/or mining industry Technical CapabilitiesExposure to the development and implementation of effective systems and processes for quality management in applying a broad range of structured risk assessment techniques and tools.
Proficient in English and Spanish (desirable)
Working Conditions and location
The position will require travel to appropriate locations (Mostly Cajamarca/Site and Lima) to support the Water Treatment Project scope.
The position will require periodic living in the Yanacocha camp.
The person must be in good health and physical condition to work in the field in different climatic conditions and at altitudes of 4,000 meters above sea level.
The incumbent may be required to travel and assist other sites nationally and internationally.
