Flexible hybrid work environment (onsite 2 days a week/3 days remote) at our Arlington, TX office (AOC 1) Responsibilities About this Role: The Release Engineering Manager owns the Release Management lifecycle, including scheduling, coordinating and the management of releases across the North American business units. The Release Engineering Manager is responsible for ensuring the continued reliability of applications by leading their team to automate the validation that each release adheres to all release management criteria. The Release Engineering Manager will also provide clarity, visibility and transparency to key stakeholders of release plans, scopes, risks, changes and release metrics. JOB DUTIES: Responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining a comprehensive release management process including scheduling, coordinating, and managing releases across multiple applications and value streams Coordinate and publish release and freeze windows Lead and mentor a team of Software Engineers that support the release management process and assist in automating the components of the process Work with DevOps Tooling to automate the validation of release readiness criteria into the deployment pipelines Work closely with IT leaders, development teams, Product Owners, and Product Managers to coordinate releases across multiple technology teams, from inception to delivery Conduct Release Readiness Reviews and confirm completion and readiness to proceed to deployment Participate in Change Management meetings to review readiness criteria and discuss release scope and/or roadblocks Develop an efficient, continuous-integration minded experience for release packaging and promotion to production environments Create and maintain a release management dashboard to monitor and track release progress and trends Perform a release management assessment to identify process improvements and adherence to the release management strategy Communicate release content, status, and issues encountered throughout the duration of release activities Work with IT leaders and teams to understand system dependencies and downstream impacts for code merges and delivery Develop and present executive level reports and presentations including roadmap and release execution Prioritize and drive the implementation of Release Management Process automation Perform other duties as assigned Conform with all company policies and procedures Qualifications What makes you a dream candidate? Knowledge Demonstrated experience in release management or similar roles within an IT organization Strong understanding of software development lifecycles within the Agile and SAFe frameworks and corresponding release management best practices Exceptional organizational and project management skills to handle multiple releases concurrently Excellent communication and interpersonal skills including Knowledge of DevOps principles and practices Strong understanding of software development and coding best practices Skills Strong in the use of Microsoft Office software including strong ability to analyze data using dashboarding tools such as Power BI Create and modify dashboards using Power BI or similar dashboarding tools Strong people skills including the ability to interact with employees at all levels Excellent written and oral communication skills Ability to effectively lead, organize and supervise software developers Ability to meet expected delivery dates and the tasks necessary to achieve goals Deadline oriented Advanced computer skills and conversance in information technology issues Education and Experience High School Diploma or equivalent required Bachelor’s Degree in related field or equivalent experience preferred 8-10 years of relevant experience required 2-4 years of leadership experience preferred What We Offer: Generous benefits package available on day one to include: 401K matching, bonding leave for new parents (12 weeks, 100% paid), tuition assistance, training, GM employee auto discount, community service pay and nine company holidays.
