PAY RANGE

The Target Pay Range for this position is $90,000-$105,000 annually. At BECU, compensation decisions are determined using factors such as relevant job-related skills, experience, and education or training. Should an offer for employment be made, we will consider individual qualifications. In addition to your salary, compensation incentives are available for the hired applicant. Incentives are performance based and targets vary by role.

BECU is opening a new Neighborhood Financial Center in the South Hill of Spokane, WA and we’re looking for an experienced manager to lead the charge! Do you have experience building relationships and connections in your own community? Do you want to lead a team who’s committed to the financial well-being of the members we serve? This is a unique opportunity to establish a new team and improve the Tacoma area's access to a member-owned, not-for-profit Credit Union where the financial needs of our members are our priority.  

The Manager Retail Branch III is responsible for the overall leadership and performance of their home Branch. You will be accountable for achieving sales and service goals, delivering outstanding member experiences, ensuring operational excellence, and fostering the professional development of your team members through coaching and mentoring. Your leadership will establish a service-focused culture, build quality partnerships within BECU and the local community, and drive membership, balance, and line of business growth for a mixed client base with a variety of needs. 

A level III Branch Manager leads a larger team, typically more than but not limited to 12 team members, at a high-volume and high-visibility branch. This branch will be a Brand Showcase and potential training site as well as a profit leader in membership. The branch may offer our full suite of teller services, on-site mortgage, business, and investments representation, and will lead a highly complex member base. 

WHAT YOU’LL DO: 

Achieve Key Sales and Member Experience Goals: Ensure accountability among your team to meet key sales and member experience goals. 

Develop and Encourage Employee Performance: Provide ongoing coaching, mentoring, and training to develop and encourage employee performance, assisting them in skill-building and planning for career goals. 

Manage Services and Promote Brand Awareness: Manage branch service level adherence, review and analyze reports, set service expectations, and support the development of brand awareness and the BECU value proposition to create opportunities within communities. 

Set Expectations and Manage Budget: Set sales and service excellence expectations with team members, assist the District Director in managing the annual budget for the branch and ensure expenses stay within approved levels. 

Develop Relationships: Develop and maintain effective working relationships with the staff, members, business partners, and the retailer or property management. Ensure that all team members comply with policies, procedures, and Credit Union regulations. 

Hire and Train Top Talent: Partner with Recruiting to hire top talent to meet the staffing needs of the district/branch. 

Compliance: Comply with SAFE Act legislation, which requires annual registration as a Mortgage Loan Originator (MLO).

QUALIFICATIONS:  

Minimum Qualifications: 

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent related experience 

Minimum five years of leadership experience 

Experience leading a team of direct reports 

Minimum five years of experience in sales/retail 

Minimum two years of experience in financial institution(s). 
 

Desired Qualifications: 

Experience leading a team of at least 7 direct reports.
