Manager/Senior Manager, Program Management

The position is responsible for leading a team of Program Managers in Asia for Tier 1 Accounts who in turn manage dedicated Program Management Teams.  The Program Managers for Tier 1 accounts enable the delivery of our operational commitments to the largest OMS accounts of APL Logistics currently including NIKE, The GAP, TJX and Target Stores.   As the commitments are delivered consistently and reliably our relationship is enhanced, leading to improved profitability.   As the account base expands, so will the team. 

Tier 1 accounts are the most profitable accounts for APL Logistics in absolute terms; but they are also significantly larger, more complex with more operating volumes.  As such, the Tier 1 accounts are covered by dedicated teams.   The complexity of these accounts and importance requires a senior PM professional to ensure that the global programs are delivered, innovation and continuous improvement are deployed.  This role will closely collaborate with global Pm lead to ensure alignment and coherence.   This role reports into the Head of Operations Excellence in Asia

Roles & Responsibilities

Program Management 

Collaborate with Global PM in the delivery of Global programs committed to Tier 1 Accounts.  Lead a team of Tier 1 program managers to oversee the governance and delivery of customer programs within the accounts that are assigned. Adopt a comprehensive view of the operational program delivery and its associated impact to customers' strategic goals and objectives. Utilize appropriate programs and project management methodologies to give assurance that intended outcomes are identified and achieved. Drive senior VP-level customer engagement. Oversee and drive the implementation of solutions. Conceptualize the value of new order management concepts and articulate that to customers.

Operations Management Collaboration

Collaborate with internal and external partners that are involved in the delivery of defined customer programs Remove barriers to program execution Partner with the GBS team to provide effective program support that fulfills customer requirements. Manage customer issues that require management level problem solving and intervention.

Continuous Improvement

Establish process for business continuity and coverage. Review existing operations and implement innovation processes to generate new ideas. Ensure the required continuous improvement outcomes are delivered. Participate in best practice sharing. Evaluate client-facing work scope and activities to assure maximum value and resource efficiency.

Commercial Development

Although not primary deliverable, partner with the Key Account Management/Commercial team to identify opportunities that enhance our value proposition and increase share of wallet.

Experience

Technical Requirements

10 years in leadership positions in Logistics  Understanding and Knowledge of Order management and Origin services Experience in Program management handling large customers  University Degree in relevant degrees
