Job model: Hybrid with 50% of travel to cover 4 sites


We have a vacancy within the Perfumery & Beauty and TTH Business units working dayshift covering 4 sites in England.  There will be a dotted reporting line to Director GOE, SHE&S Labs & Offices.

Your key responsibilities:

•    Providing SHE support for 4 sites which have laboratories and office areas including regular onsite visits, London & Sharnbrook (larger sites for onsite visits), Runcorn & Wells (Smaller sites requiring fewer onsite visits) 
•    Ensuring SHE related compliance with current legislation and dsm-firmenich Group SHE requirements, relating to relevant occupational safety policies, procedures, standards and training and update SHE procedures as necessary. 
•    Carry out risk assessments, regular auditing (inc PTW, COSHH, Aldehydes, Clients) and taking corrective actions to ensure conformance to SHE requirements
•    Leading and Investigating safety incidents and injuries on site to ensure compliance with site and dsm-firmenich standards and close out of actions
•    Working closely with Site Leads and Lab Managers to agree realistic safety objectives and produce regular reports on safety performance
•    Supporting the development and implementation of SHE KPI’s and monitoring programs for the site to ensure safety compliance
•    Providing practical advice on safety issues, feeding back when required standards are not being met and making recommendations for corrective action as appropriate
•    Managing all issues on Occupational SHE and provide support to the Occupational Health provider ensuring service level and all assessments carried out including DSE and fitness for work 
•    Preparation, delivery and co-ordination of Training for Safety, Emergency Response, First Aid and Occupational Health
•    Interface with Group SHE regularly to ensure application of dsm-firmenich standards and for roll out of initiatives within UK sites
•    Leading SHE activities and implementation of projects on site
•    Ensuring the registration, evaluation, authorization and restriction of chemicals (REACH) is used on site along the entire supply chain to ensure compliance to relevant legislation
•    Ensuring development of Site Safety Representatives is in place to promote site safety initiatives and standards
•    Promotion of wellness activities and development of mental health first aiders 
•    Staying abreast of both internal and external developments regarding UK laws and regulations and all other relevant compliance matters
•    Maintain good relationships with external SHE and Occupational Health regulators
•    Keeping up-to-date records and files of all relevant compliance issues and maintaining valid certifications
•    Contributing to the improvement of the overall performance of the site by proactively participating in Site Leadership Team meetings and initiatives
•    Participating in regional / global SHE networks.

You bring:

•    Successful candidate will be a graduate with a degree in relevant subject with several years’ relevant experience including COSHH, Manual Handling and other Occupational Hygiene related areas  
•    A thorough knowledge of SHE auditing and legislation is required  
•    BOHS, IOSH or equivalent qualifications are desirable  
•    Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office packages is essential 
•    Candidates should have proven track record of competence in their respective discipline with excellent interpersonal skills 
•    Other essential behaviors are self-motivation, team player, good communication and auditing skills. Travel is expected at 50%
