The Ground Solutions and Mission Support (GSMS) Software (SW) Integrated Project Team (IPT) is a large, restricted group executing across both Development and Operations and Maintenance (O&M) tasks.  The SW Engineering IPT focuses on the development and sustainment of several mission operational SW product lines, as well as the development of new capabilities as coordinated with their restricted SCI Customer.

The SW IPT has an immediate need for a SW development manager managing one of their ground systems software (SW) subsystems.  The SW IPT is a large team comprising of multiple subsystems, each with a specialized software focus.  Each subsystem provides mission-critical and operational SW product lines as well as the development of new ground systems capabilities as coordinated with the Customer.  The SW development manager will oversee a team which will include about 10 to 15 SW engineers.  The manager must possess excellent leadership, interpersonal communication, and presentation skills, and work closely with the Software (SW) Assistant Program Manager (APM) and SW Deputy APMs.  The candidate will be responsible for the team tasking and support of management meetings and reviews.  This position requires coordination and interfacing with the other SW subsystems, Systems Engineering, external customers, and site personnel.  Candidate will work in a dynamic team environment, ensuring personnel follow well-defined processes.  The candidate must have the ability to complete tasks with minimal direction and oversight, and mentor junior engineers.

Basic Qualifications:

A minimum of 8 years of relevant experience with a Bachelor's degree; 6 years of relevant experience with a Masters' degree; 3 years of relevant experience with a PhD; an additional 4 years of experience in lieu of degreeCandidate must have an active Top-Secret Clearance and SCI access prior to start datePrevious experience leading a team of software engineers and managing SW processes, adjudicating SW Discrepancy Reports (DRs) and fulfilling requirements for successExcellent leadership and interpersonal communications skills, with the ability to interface with all levels of employees and management

Salary Range: $156,500.00 - $234,700.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
