Job Description
The Manager Software Engineering is responsible for developing and leading technical teams in the delivery of quality products in a timely manner. This position collaborates with other technical leaders to ensure a cohesive product suite.Responsibilities
Ensure the delivery of timely high quality results. Collaborate with internal stakeholders to meet business requirements through helping the team align with prioritized backlog while contributing to technical solutions by helping to define user storiesEnsure alignment with product vision through collaboration and frequent communication with technical leadership and product owner. Establish team organization in support of product directionLead a team to understand adhere to and consistently implement the software development lifecycle. Proactively identify and communicate potential roadblocks to the team and leadershipProvide technical guidance hands-on assistance and promote team culture with an emphasis on security quality and engineering agility; remove barriers to enable the team to be productiveExecute department processes and standards to ensure alignment across the organization. Continuously improve processes through effective communication and acting as a motivator of change within the departmentContribute to and manage to approved budgetCollaborate with team members and cross departmental stakeholders in creation coordination and achievement of mutual goalsManage and lead the direction of executing department benchmarks protocols and objectives. Assess employee and team performance against established quality metrics; track team performance against established metrics and hold direct reports accountable for meeting defined performance standards; provide feedback to employeesPerform all managerial functions and responsibilities associated with hiring compensation management employment relations and termination of employeesDevelop team members; coach employees through their personal growth in: functional expertise communication skills and ability to effectively interact with clients and peers. Assist with identifying and developing future leadersOperate as a thought leader among the team; contribute significantly to the overall growth and quality of the departmentServe as an escalation point for issues; provide guidance resolve issues as necessary and remove obstacles for team
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experienceRelevant software industry experience Demonstrated technical skills to effectively manage technical teamsExperience with Agile or willingness to learn and follow Agile Scrum or other appropriate principles and methodologiesDemonstrated fiscal responsibility/accountability in managing budgetsExcellent problem solving critical thinking and analytical skillsExcellent collaboration skills applied successfully within a team as well as other areasExcellent attention to detailExcellent interpersonal skills; able to maintain solid rapport with team members as well as maintain professionalism with those outside of departmentExcellent leadership sound judgement and business acumen skillsExcellent oral and written communication skills that demonstrate a professional demeanor and the ability to interact with others with discretion and tactExcellent organizational prioritization and time management skillsExcellent facilitation and project management skillsExcellent customer service orientationSelf-motivated with follow through and attention to detailProficiency with presentation and data analytics Excellent ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and tactExcellent ability to establish rapport and gain the trust of others; effective at gaining consensusAble to thrive in a fast paced deadline driven environmentAbility to coach mentor and provide feedback to team members in a timely mannerExcellent ability to develop use and deliver engaging informative and compelling presentation methodologiesSharp fast learner with technology curiosity and aptitudeDemonstrated experience with Microsoft Operating systems and productsProficiency with Microsoft Outlook or equivalent email and calendar softwareExcellent business and technology acumenProficiency with CI/CD principles On call/after hours escalation may be required Up to 5% travel time required What you will be doing Ensure the delivery of timely, high quality results.
