About the Role & Team Walt Disney Imagineering is the master planning, creative development, design, engineering, production, project management, and research arm of The Walt Disney Company’s Parks and Resorts business segment. Representing more than 130 subject areas, the talented Imagineers are responsible for the creation of Disney resorts, theme parks and attractions, hotels, water parks, real estate developments, regional entertainment venues, cruise ships and new media technology projects. The Walt Disney Imagineering Technology Studio is looking for a Manager, Software Technology. This role will be responsible for developing apps, platforms, tools, and technologies that enable and empower the business management functions of Walt Disney Imagineering. This position will report to the Senior Manager, Software Technology. What You Will Do + Manage a team of software engineers, including hiring, mentoring, performance management, and career development + Partner with product teams to define technical requirements vital to achieving project goals. + Responsible for the full software development lifecycle, from ideation and design to development, testing, deployment, and operation. + Help contribute to teams, including develop and maintain feature sets of software. This includes architecture, design, implementation, and testing across variety of software typologies ranging from desktop applications to cloud-scale services. + Collaborate with other software project leads to provide incremental and overall updates to the status of product progress. + Lead code review initiatives and help define standards and processes within the portfolio and studio-wide. + Lead and Mentor developers at various levels and provide guidance for implementing best practices and standards for software development. Required Qualifications & Skills + 8+ years of development experience in one or more programming languages (eg. C#, Python, C++, Java, JavaScript) with the ability to lead projects + Knowledge and experience with modern software development practices, including version control (SVN, git) and workflow management tools including JIRA, Github, Gitlab, Jenkins, etc. + Solid understanding of CI/CD patterns (including infrastructure as code, eg. Terraform), Docker, AWS, and observability tools (eg. Datadog, Splunk) + Experience in Full Stack Development, Cloud Deployment standard processes, and Data Security + Technical writing, documentation, and interpersonal skills. Preferred Qualifications + Expertise in Node.JS, Ruby on Rails + Expertise in data model development, pipelines, database management and data visualization + Expertise in Software Vendor Management + Expertise with data processing pipelines, ETL workflows, Snowflake + Familiarity with other languages including but not limited to Typescript, GoLang, R, Rust + Familiarity with reactive front-end frameworks, primarily VueJs Education Bachelor's degree in computer science, software engineering or related field, or equivalent experience. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors.
