Supply Chain Manager

 

Position Description:

We are seeking an experienced and results-driven Supply Chain Manager to lead our supply chain operations, directly reporting to the General Manager. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in cost control, inventory management, contracts and stakeholder engagement, particularly within the mining industry. A crucial aspect of this position is fostering meaningful relationships with Indigenous communities and First Nation stakeholders to ensure their perspectives and needs are integrated into our supply chain practices. This position demands a strategic thinker with excellent leadership abilities to enhance our supply chain efficiency while ensuring compliance with all company policies and safety standards.

 

 

Responsibilities:

Implement a cost control system, effectively supervising capital spending and managing the sale of obsolete scraps. Reduce stock holding and inventory levels while maintaining zero stock outs. Identify and execute strategies to reduce freight costs. Participate in the RFP process for new work and oversee the development of contract documents. Coordinate the sale of redundant/obsolete stock, scrap, and fixed assets. Integrate the supply chain with maintenance, processing, and mine planning. Develop and maintain a stakeholder engagement plan with local and international suppliers, contractors, site operational staff, and local government agencies. Ensure timely and accurate completion of daily, weekly, and monthly reports. Leading and mentoring supply chain team members.  Oversee team performance, conduct reviews, and ensure development plans are in place for all team members. Ensure compliance with all legal, ethical, and safety standards. Actively participate in safety meetings and initiatives. Fostering meaningful relationships with Indigenous communities and First Nation stakeholders Identify savings opportunities and lead continuous improvement initiatives. Audit policies and procedures for compliance with statutory and company requirements. Provide training and supervision to staff on inventory control and procurement practices. Ensure adherence to safety, occupational health, and environmental policies. Perform additional duties and special assignments as required

 

 

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree in Procurement and Supply Chain Management or equivalent; MBA is a plus. Minimum of 10 years of progressive management experience in the mining or related industry. Strong multitasking and organizational skills. Experience with SAP systems and inventory management procedures. Excellent analytical and negotiation skills. Passion for coaching, training, and developing team members. Proven ability to influence and collaborate within a high-performing team. Competence in mine economics, evaluation techniques, and budgeting. Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written, at all organizational levels. Strong time management and project management abilities. High level of independent judgment and reasoning. Demonstrated ability to enforce cost control measures and implement company policies effectively. Strong interpersonal skills and a collaborative mindset.
