Overview
Manages personnel and processes required to support, integrate, and link key supply chain functions including distribution and/or transportation services.
Responsibilities
* Converts objectives into clear action plans and ensures the outcomes of these action plans can be sustained.
* Creates clear responsibilities for the organization and integrates them with individual/team responsibilities.
* Manages annual operating budget and ensures reliable budget performance.
* Manages and develops staff through HR planning, hiring, training, supervising, coaching, mentoring, and performance management.
* Manages the planning, selection, acquisition, installation and calibration, maintenance, service and repair, troubleshooting and final disposition of all departmental infrastructure to ensure reliable operations.
* Manages the physical plant to include safe operations, security, fitness for purpose and operating costs.
* Documents, stabilizes, and controls all core operating processes required to manage the SCM Hospital Services department. Integrates core operating processes with other upstream and downstream processes.
* Creates a process improvement plan aligned with the SCM strategic plan, goals and objectives. Improves all core operating processes to reduce waste and lower cost. Creates corrective action routines based on standardized problem solving methodologies that address processes that fall out of process control.
* May be responsible for Distribution Services over Supply and Linen distribution and management functions. Proactively manages demand for linen and supplies and ensures customers have adequate provisions to deliver quality patient care in a timely manner. Notifies customers of shortages/outages or changes to products.
* May be responsible for Patient and Equipment Transportation Services. Provides timely response to demand for patient transportation services. Proactively manages assets and equipment for performance, quality and location and ensures timely delivery of equipment to areas requesting service. Notifies customers of delays or issues that would impact delivery of services.
* Provides for training and education of all staff while leveraging and improving existing functionality. Develops an information management requirements plan and works with support groups to address these requirements.
* Ensures all activities and processes meet institutional standards and regulations. Reports all quality, safety and environmental incidents to supply chain leadership.
* Responsible for adhering to regulatory requirements and correcting deficiencies pertaining to the Environment of Care.
* Performs other duties as required or assigned.
Qualifications
* Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Operations Management, Business Administration, Healthcare Administration or equivalent with 5 years of combined experience in supervision and operations management or the equivalent required.
* Master’s degree (MBA or MHA) preferred.
* Previous experience in Continuous Process Improvement and Project Management is essential.
* Demonstrated leadership and change management experience.
* Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects required.
* Exceptional verbal and written communication skills with strong interpersonal skills desired.
* Demonstrated knowledge of a variety of software products such as Microsoft Office applications (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, etc.) desired.
* Prior healthcare industry or medical device manufacturing experience preferred.
* APICS certification preferred.
