Leads and supports all aspects of the preparation and reviews of the income tax provision analysis for purposes of effective tax rates, budgets, forecasts, and strategic planning, etc.
Leads and supports the review and management of the U.S. income tax provision calculation in accordance with ASC740 (including FIN 48) and preparation of tax notes for financial statements. Responsible for documentation required for ASC 740 (including FIN 48) for US entities as well as assisting and managing integrating the U.S. provision into the Canadian parent’s financial statements.
Responsible for managing U.S. tax department SOX documentation and aligning with related SOX internal control and managing external audit relationship with PwC tax team.
Leads all aspects of the preparation and reviews the income tax returns for the U.S. corporations and partnerships (federal, state, and international) and ensures that all compliance deadlines are met and that taxes are remitted on a timely basis to avoid penalties.
Responsible for overseeing & maintaining the tax fixed asset system, including tax depreciation calculations/reconciliations associated with tax returns, tax provision, regulatory filings, and tax projections.
Coordinates with Accounting regarding issues, policies, material transactions and procedures affecting financial and regulatory statements. Also responsible for coordinating IT/TIS and others to ensure tax technology solutions are understood and meet the needs of the function for any reporting period and or function.
Responsible for identifying transactions requiring unique treatment and documenting accordingly. Also responsible for coordinating and leading tax audits, including negotiation of issues with auditors and subsequently upon appeal.
Responsible for supervising employees, overseeing training, developing proficiencies, and focusing on succession planning opportunities. This includes hiring, training, supervising, and evaluating the performance of all staff to ensure adequate tax expertise within the tax reporting group.
Undertakes and completes ad-hoc assigned tax projects independently and with limited direct supervision. This includes developing an understanding of other tax issues and initiatives being addressed by other members of the Enbridge tax planning and compliance teams (e.g., tax due diligence and modeling for acquisitions and organic growth; and responsible for tax accounting integration).
8 years of accounting experience with 12+ years of progressively responsible experience in U.S Cross border and International Tax
A degree of Business Administration or a related subject area along with a Certified Public Accountant designation

Office environment with average work hours in the range of 40+ hours per week with occasional travel
