Job summary -purpose of the role To manage the warehouse function to ensure that it operates in accordance with Company, Health & Safety, Qualityand Legal guidelines. In this position you will report to the Site or Operations Manager. Responsibilities & duties: Manage and motivate staff and provide direction to the team to ensure effective operation of the department Ensure that new members receive the appropriate induction training Review staff performance against agreed objective and provide feedback and ongoing training where required Communicate effectively between line and functional management to other business areas to ensure the function operates effectively and efficiently Ensure that costs are controlled where appropriate and provide recommendations to the Operations Manager on how to improve profitability and efficiency Report and explain budget variances Investigate and resolve customer complaints Provide leadership by example to ensure compliance to Statutory Requirements, Quality Procedures, Responsible Care, Insurance Requirements and company policies including employment and disciplinary procedures Adhere to Health and Safety, Environment and Training legislationMaintain security and safety of the site and manage relationships with authorities and third parties involved in site management The duties described in this job description cover the main duties of the role but they arenot exhaustive and will vary by country.You may be required to undertake additional or other duties as necessary to meet the needs of the businessQualifications & skills Relevant progressively responsible experience in a manager role working in a warehouse environment with knowledge of tank farm and handling of chemical products People management skills, to be able to direct staff and deal with difficult employee situations and maintain a productive and disciplined working environment Understanding of all Health and Safety and Security regulations with the ability to apply them in the workplace SAP Experience and Intermediate MS Word, MS Excel and MS Outlook Good planning and organising skills with the ability to prioritise workload and meet strict deadlines Good communication skills Ability to identify and implement cost savings and understand budget issues.
