Purpose of JobResponsible for developing, translating and aligning the BU wellbeing strategy with the wellness group strategy and BU business strategy and requirements providing fit-for-purpose wellbeing solutions that enable sustainable business performance. Leading a team of wellbeing consultants and overseeing the implementation of interventions with the following specific focus areas: providing input into the group wellness strategy, measuring business impact of wellness in the BU, absenteeism management, financial wellbeing, disease management, psychosocial wellbeing, risk management including death, disability and retirement cover. Ensure that wellbeing interventions enhance Sasol’s EVP through cost-effective programmes that support the high performance culture by positively influencing productivity, employee morale, the physical and mental state of employees, financial wellbeing as well as line managers’ ability to manage employees more effectively.
Key Accountabilities• Responsible for the design and implementation of wellbeing interventions in line with Sasol Group Wellness Strategy and BU wellness requirements.
• Responsible for the design, implementation and monitoring of wellbeing initiatives, products and services relating to physical wellbeing, mental & emotional wellbeing, financial wellbeing and occupational health and environmental wellbeing
• Perform cost-benefit and return on investment analysis on wellbeing initiatives to measure effectiveness of wellbeing interventions and implement programmes to drive continuous improvement in wellbeing.
• Obtain buy-in from line management on wellbeing initiatives through education and proof of cost effective delivery mechanisms and products to ensure an ongoing and increasing focus on employee wellness.
• Benchmark with industry trends to ensure that Sasol offers world-class wellness interventions timeously.
• Report on various programmes to relevant legislative bodies (e.g. Sasol’s HIV/AIDS programme to the Department of Health) Manage the implementation of wellbeing initiatives by taking a project management approach that improve health and wellbeing outcomes.
• Be accountable for maintaining and enhancing wellbeing related policies and procedures and take responsibility for the practical application of changes to procedures resulting from business initiatives, legislative and regulatory changes.
• Utilise external service providers contracted to Sasol to deliver holistic wellness services to employees and manage the outcomes and deliverables of such interventions.
• Integrate, analyse and reporting on status of employee wellbeing and effectiveness of interventions to internal and external stakeholders as required against predetermined and approved metrics.
• Develop and present reports and briefs to the Executive leadership teams, Board Committees, senior management, key stakeholders and consultation committees.
• Scans the internal and external environment to proactively determine critical people wellness challenges and trends.
• Communicates and incorporates wellness research and best practice into a consulting approach.
• Identifies and convinces customers of the value proposition of proposed approaches and solutions.
• Fosters close working relationships with business department/section managers.
• Participates in business, professional and employer forums and steering committees.
Formal EducationUniversity Bacherlor's Degree
• Certification in wellness or health promotion is a plus
Min Experience9+ relevant years
• Proven experience as a Wellness Manager or similar role
• Knowledge of health and wellness practices and methods
• Experience with program development and health education
• Excellent communication and leadership skills
• Strong organizational and project management abilities
