PURPOSE:

The WMS Support Manager is responsible to provide guidance and support to DC Operations for both systems and operational processes. The role also acts as a liaison between DC Operations and internal business teams to drive business outcomes for external customers. The role will guide development, deploy, and provide on-going support for a variety of warehouse, labor, inventory, order management and transportation systems. The role will gather, organize, analyze, present, and recommend solutions for both internal and external business issues as well as discovery and new system evaluation.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

·         Support business systems to drive safe workplace.

·         Define and document business requirements for development:

o   Labor management

o   Inventory control

o   Warehouse management

o   Regulatory compliance

o   Customer facing requirements

·         Support business systems and processes to drive efficient DC operations.

·         Deploy warehouse systems to include business requirements, configuration, testing, user acceptance, go-live / cut-over, and post implementation support.

·         Provide extended on-site support and stabilization as needed.

·         Liaison between IT and business to drive operational solutions.

·         Manage integration across a variety of systems:

o   Inbound transportation management

o   Vendor compliance

o   Order management

o   Warehouse management

o   Labor management

o   Automated systems

o   Outbound transportation management

o   Payroll

·         Data analysis to optimize efficient resource allocation.

·         Develop standard operating procedure documentation and provide training to DC management and associates.

·         Participate in new software development.

·         Vendor relationship management.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION:

·         Bachelor’s degree preferred or commensurate experience

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

·         5+ Years Progressive warehouse operations management experience

·         5+ Years Progressive warehouse management systems experience

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE:

·         Broad warehouse operational experience

·         Knowledgeable in warehouse management systems:

o   Manhattan, LCS, Vocollect, Red Prairie or similar preferred

·         Ability to identify technical solutions to business problems

·         Project management experience

·         General understanding of system integration

·         Database structure, SQL, pseudo code, file transfer protocols

·         Fluent in Microsoft Excel, Word, Project & PowerPoint, Visio or flow-charting a plus

SKILLS/ABILITIES:

·         Exhibit strong interpersonal & communication skills

·         Demonstrated ability to take ownership and drive for results

·         Ability to turn complex knowledge or data into actionable items for management

·         Ability to build strong relationships and commitment to internal customers

·         Ability to work at various locations with limited oversight

·         Capable of working in ambiguity or adversity while focusing on desired outcome

·         Ability to adapt to changes in priority or scope

·         LEAN, six sigma, process management skills preferred

·         Good judgment is required for this position as there may be times when direct supervision may not be immediately available.

TRAVEL:

·         Ability to travel approximately 75%

·         Domiciled near major airport preferred

PHYSICAL ENVIRONMENT/ DEMANDS:

·         Ability to do repetitious arm, wrist and hand movements required for maintenance and service procedures. 

·         Must be able to work with hands and arms overhead, and to work in or under the equipment. 

·         Requires manual dexterity, overall coordination and good balance to work both at ground level and in high places to perform job duties.  Ability to operate work related equipment

·         Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

Sales Positions Only: For sales positions that are commission-based, the above range is an estimate of total potential commission-based compensation during an associate’s first year, but UNFI offers an introductory period minimum of $680 per week. After the introductory period, as a 100% commission-based role, there is no set salary. UNFI’s commission plans are uncapped and average earnings vary depending on territory and sales achieved, among other factors.
