Enable the democratization and productization of data assets to drive insights and decision-making.Develop new data and product capabilities through advanced analytics and AI-driven solutions.Collaborate closely with business units and enterprise functions to maximize the impact of data.Leverage intelligence solutions to unlock efficiency, transparency, and value across the organization.Key ResponsibilitiesTeam Leadership & Management (80%)Lead a high-performing team, ensuring alignment with department and project requirements.Foster a collaborative and inclusive team culture, resolving conflicts and encouraging professional growth.Partner with matrix managers to set goals, plan quarterly deliverables, and address blockers.Conduct regular performance reviews, provide constructive feedback, and promote professional development through training and mentorship.Ensure effective communication and collaboration across teams and stakeholders.Oversee the planning and execution of deliverables, adhering to organizational goals and standards.Technical Contribution & Oversight (20%)Provide technical guidance in data engineering processes, utilizing tools like Azure Data Factory, DBT, Snowflake, and Python.Collaborate with operations teams to optimize workflows and implement CI/CD practices.Ensure adherence to data governance, security, and compliance standards.Lead the design and optimization of data platforms, pipelines, and architectures to support growing data needs.Drive process standardization across Scrum teams, enabling reusable and efficient solutions.Stay updated with emerging technologies to introduce innovative solutions within the team.Additional ResponsibilitiesAct as a liaison between technical and business teams, aligning data strategies with organizational objectives.Advocate for the adoption of advanced tools and methodologies to enhance data capabilities.Monitor and report on team performance and project outcomes, recommending improvements as needed.Qualifications
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.Minimum of 8 years of technical experience in data engineering, including expertise in Snowflake, DBT, Azure, and Python.At least 5 years of leadership experience managing teams in data engineering or cloud initiatives.Strong knowledge of Agile methodologies and project management tools like Jira and Confluence.Excellent problem-solving skills, with a focus on data-driven decision-making and team collaboration.Preferred Qualifications Certifications in Azure, Snowflake, or BI tools (Power BI, Tableau).Experience with healthcare data or other regulated industries.Familiarity with CI/CD tools and additional cloud platforms (AWS, GCP).Knowledge of advanced analytics, machine learning, and AI applications.Zelis is modernizing the healthcare financial experience by providing a connected platform that bridges the gaps and aligns interests across payers, providers, and healthcare consumers.
