What You Will Do:
Managing Consultants are responsible for managing projects from cultivation to completion in a fast-paced environment. In this role, you will manage the activities of the designated project team and support the day-to-day management of the client relationship. You are expected to effectively develop and manage project execution and planning, staffing, deadlines and budgets and are expected to manage multiple projects simultaneously. Work products are expected to be high-quality and client-ready.
In this visible role, you will lead team meetings and guide, manage, and coach Consultants and Senior Consultants, providing constructive feedback on their project participation and overall career development. Managing Consultants work closely with Associate Directors, Directors, and Partners to keep them abreast of project progress and important developments as well as to integrate guidance and engagement recommendations. Managing Consultants take part in sales initiatives and Practice Development.

As an actuarial consultant focusing on Medicaid programs, you will ensure quality deliverables are created and validated in the following areas:
Capitation rate development,Valuation of Incurred But Not Reported (IBNR) Estimates,Risk adjustment calculations of premium,Analysis of MLR and other financial reports,Development of budget projections,Creating data dashboarding to analyze emerging trends,Providing support to State Medicaid programs with legislative requests, andOther actuarial modeling as neededGuidehouse encourages career development and hiring for the long term. Managing Consultants follow a clearly defined career path. As Managing Consultants excel in their project management skills, ability to manage multiple work streams, professional expertise, and client and business development skills, they progress to the position of Associate Director.
