About the role

The changing climate will present unprecedented risks and shifts in business models as companies adapt to meet the needs of climate-impacted consumers and markets. Whether advising on strategies that respond to the decarbonising economy, or building resilience in the face of warming and more volatile weather, ERM Energetics seeks Senior Consultants who are energised to help businesses address the climate challenge and have experience integrating climate strategy into sustainability, risk management and corporate processes.

You will manage client relationships and, as a project manager, coordinate tasks across team members, and be accountable for on-time and on-budget delivery to your clients.

Our services

ERM Energetics has unparalleled experience working with large ASX-listed businesses to deliver emissions quantification insights and improving business processes across sustainability reporting.

Emissions inventories: Developing accurate and robust Scope 1, 2, and 3 emissions inventories and forecasts to support mandatory (incoming ASRS, NGER, NPI) and voluntary (GRI, CDP and GRESB) reporting. 

Safeguard Mechanism: Enhancing understanding of Safeguard Mechanism compliance positions by forecasting emissions, production, and baselines.

Supply chain emissions and implications: Consolidating and improving Scope 3 emissions data in line with reporting requirements. Developing emissions reduction targets and strategies.

Green credentials and state-based schemes including life cycle analysis, Climate Active certification and greenhouse gas management plans.

What do I need to be successful in this role?

We are seeking a candidate with the following three pre-requisite requirements:

At least 2 years’ experience in climate risk and mitigation solutions, emissions quantification and decarbonisation.

Consulting experience, including work in NGER, NPI, Scope 1, 2 and 3, TCFD and SBTi.

Preferred requirements are:

Demonstrated expertise in providing analysis and advice on the risks to business under different climate change scenarios and make recommendations for adaptation strategies.

Strong Microsoft Excel skills that have been used to undertake analysis of varying sizes of data sets.

Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate complex energy and emissions legislation into advice that is quantifiable, auditable, and decision useful.
