Position Summary:

Lead implementation of Strategic and Reputational oversight programs in independent risk management, a key deliverable for Heightened Standards compliance efforts.

Key Responsibilities:

Responsible for the design, implementation, and execution of the Enterprise Risk Management (2LOD) programs for Strategic and Reputational Risk

Responsible for providing oversight and effective challenge to individuals charged with identification, assessment, and controlling of material strategic and reputational risks in the front-line units.

Develop risk governance program documentation in line with Enterprise Risk Governance Framework and related policies.

Oversee the execution and provide effective challenge to the annual Strategic Planning Risk Assessment, including operationalizing program and process maturity enhancements.

Provide challenge to control design, assessments, control testing, and KPIs and KRIs as appropriate.

Provide input into enterprise-wide risk appetite for appropriate risk types.

Monitor for new legal and/or regulatory requirements and communicate to stakeholders as required. Oversee and/or conduct gap analyses and monitor progress toward implementation.

Specific Skills and Experience:

Minimum Bachelor degree is required. Advanced degree is highly preferred.

10+ years progressive financial services industry experience in risk management, compliance or audit required.

Strong knowledge of Risk Management program and frameworks required. Experience in strategic and reputational risk management strongly preferred.

Experience in developing, implementing. And operationalizing risk management programs.

Ability to plainly describe risk concepts to first line operational personnel.

Synthesis of complex and potentially conflicting data into simple, actionable reporting.

Strong written and verbal communication skills -- ability to collaborate, communicate, and influence up/down and across the organization with internal/external partners.

Ability to resolve conflicting opinions without compromising high quality risk management.

Proven ability in building and fostering strong, positive working relationships in a large organization to enable a strong understanding and close alignment with business needs, direction, and risk appetite.

Strong interpersonal skills, ability to partner and consult with and influence other managers.

Auditing or risk management certification is desired.

This position will have a hybrid schedule and can be based onsite in Southington, CT, White Plains, NY or Jericho, NY

The estimated base salary range for this position is $182,000 USD to $200,000 USD.  Actual salary may vary up or down depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this position is eligible for incentive compensation.
