Aon Is looking for a Managing Director, Risk & Insurance Due Diligence in the New York region of Aon’s M&A and Transaction Advisory Solutions practice. We currently have an exciting career opportunity for an experienced P&C professional within our Transaction Advisory Services team. This role will be part of a global team delivering M&A services to Private Equity and Corporate clients. As a risk & insurance due diligence consultant, you will work closely with the New York diligence team and report into the Co-Head M&A Transaction Solutions, North America. What the day will look like Job Responsibilities: Lead due diligence projects of varying complexity. Communicate internally with brokers, coverage / exposure experts, producers, client service team and M&A team members and collaborate to develop findings and solutions. Communicate externally on daily basis as trusted advisor with private equity firms, target companies or their representatives. Execute and deliver to clients accurate and professional due diligence reports. Analyze and provide technical input on insurance coverage, claims history, insurance-related collateral, insurance-related financial expense, surety bonds and insurance sections of the draft purchase agreement. Identify transaction issues and work with clients’ other third-party advisors to develop resolution. Collaborate with producers to build and maintain relationships with ongoing clients and convert due diligence targets to ongoing clients. With proven credibility, be a mentor and thought leader within the M&A practice. Communicate and capture the value that Aon brings even to the most challenging situations. Prepare spreadsheets and analyze data. Prepare proposals and make presentations to clients and prospects. Provide mentorship and guidance to junior level due diligence team members. Some travel required. Skills and experience that will lead to success Required Skills & Experience: Property and Casualty insurance technical proficiency. Broad knowledge of specialty insurance including property, casualty, cyber, E&O, financial lines, environmental, group captives and other. Financial – basic understanding of financial statements, accounting. Project management – coordinate activities and information flow from a group of people within specified time frame. Strategic and analytical skills – attention to detail but able to draw conclusions. Strong communication skills (written and oral) – ability to communicate well and at the appropriate level with a wide range of people. Ability to perform under stress / tight time frames. Ability to develop relationships / build confidence of others (both internally and externally) based upon work performed. Ability to work on multiple projects at one time. Results oriented. Proficiency with Word, Excel, Power Point. Broker’s license 15+ years of insurance experience strongly preferred. Pay Transparency Laws: The salary range for this position (intended for U.S. applicants) is $260,000 to $310,000 annually. The actual salary will vary based on applicant’s education, experience, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data. The salary may also be adjusted based on applicant’s geographic location. This position is eligible to participate in Aon’s annual incentive plans in addition to base salary. The amount of any incentive varies and is subject to the terms and conditions of the applicable incentive plan.
