Role Overview: GreenPoint is seeking a dynamic, creative, and results-oriented professional to join the practice at a leadership level. The right individual will have the ability to serve clients by contributing meaningfully to discussions of high-level strategy and by following through to support clients’ interests in specific initiatives. Leadership, organizational, and execution abilities in China are of paramount importance in this role, as are communication skills and the ability to develop relationships with government, private sector, and other constituencies. This position offers a unique opportunity to connect public policy and business strategy in support of clients in China and related to China around the world. Responsibilities: Specific roles include: + Business Development: + Cultivate relationships in the business community + Identify needs of potential clients and prepare proposals that align with those needs + Win new business + Client Service. Within a dynamic client team context, provide execution and advisory services for GreenPoint’s clients that may entail: + Leading client service as Client Service Manager on multiple teams + Strategy development, coordination and execution of client service delivery + Direct and participate in client briefings + Memo and briefing paper drafting + Trip and meeting support + Support for short and long-term client initiatives + Manage colleagues and external partners to serve clients with excellence + Outreach: + Cultivate broad and active relationships in the commercial, diplomatic, academic, policy, and other related communities + Effectively represent GreenPoint in engagement with stakeholders Requirements: The ideal candidate will demonstrate the following: + Organization and Execution: + Highly organized, action oriented, and efficient + Proven ability to execute complex projects and lead diverse teams in fast-moving, high-pressure environments, working with team members in the U.S. and China + Demonstrated success proactively executing multiple initiatives on tight deadlines + Bias towards action and speed in responsiveness + Team Player: + Trustworthy, reliable, dedicated, highest integrity + Personal qualities of humility and flexibility + Values colleagues and delights clients + Evidence of the ability to successfully mentor others and to help grow leaders + High dependability, low ego in small and remote team environments + Relationship and Network Development: + Extensive existing relationship networks in China’s political, thought leader, and commercial communities + Knack for and proven experience in cultivating existing relationships and establishing new ones with a variety of stakeholders + Natural ability to communicate comfortably and effectively (verbally and in writing in both Chinese and English) with key stakeholders and GreenPoint clients + Innovative, Entrepreneurial, Strategic: + Demonstrated pursuit of better methods in achieving objectives + An entrepreneurial spirit that thrives in a fast-paced and close-knit work culture + Brings a strategic mindset to client services and the needs of corporate executives + Demonstrated judgment and decision-making ability + Substantive analytical experience with a deep understanding of China’s political, social, commercial, and economic dynamics + Ability to manage resource allocations across multiple client relationships and team members, to manage capacity and prioritize work product + Education and Experience: + Post-graduate degree preferred + 10 or more years professional working experience, including experience leading teams that deliver strategic advisory services + Demonstrated commitment to advancing U.S.-China relations + Language: Fluent Chinese, fluent English Location: Beijing or Shanghai preferred; will consider exceptional candidates in the U.S. Timing: immediate Ankura is an Affirmative Action and Equal Opportunity Employer.
