Managing Director (MD) is the leader of VCL Financial Services and is responsible for the overall success of the company. Under the supervision of the Board of Directors, the MD is ultimately responsible for the day-to-day management of the company; developing business strategies and plans ensuring their alignment with short-term and long-term objectives; leading and motivating staff to advance employee engagement; developing a high performing managerial team; and, ultimately overseeing all operations and business activities to ensure they produce the desired results and are consistent with the overall strategy and mission of the company. Additionally, the MD is responsible for driving institutional change and continued innovation through a period of transformation as well as representing the company to clients and external partners.
Key Accountabilities
⦁ Develops strategic direction of the business and positioning to ensure the company’s sustainable growth and success.
⦁ Partnerships & Stakeholder Management and Development – Collaborate effectively with external stakeholders, regulators, and government entities to enhance policy positioning and ensure strategic alignment.
⦁ Ensures that the regulatory framework, policies and circulars are compliant with where appropriate, Central Bank’s Regulations and applicable laws.
⦁ Provide credible and agile leadership to the management team, ensuring that the team actively participates and contributes to the strategic thinking and development of the company.
⦁ Ensure that right capabilities are in place to deliver sound financial performance of the company.
⦁ Deliver results and provide quarterly and annual financial performance reports to the Board of Directors and relevant stakeholders.
⦁ Ensure the adequacy and soundness of the company’s financial structure; reviewing all capital expenditure requests and arrangements for additional finance-funds.
⦁ Expand the ecosystem through technology in order to grow and provide customers and stakeholders with relevant innovative products and services.
⦁ Ensure that the right skills, mind-sets, and systems are in place to continuously assess and mitigate company’s principal risks as mandated by the Audit/Risk and Compliance committees.
