Our client, a bespoke fit-out contractor with a turnover of over £80 million, involved in a variety of sectors, is looking for an experienced Managing Quantity Surveyor. As a Managing Quantity Surveyor, you will oversee all aspects of quantity surveying and cost management ensuring project costs align with budgets, manage the team of quantity surveyors, and liaise with clients, contractors, and other stakeholders to deliver projects efficiently and within financial limitations. The ideal candidate has expertise in cost control, contract management, and team leadership, ensuring that projects are completed on time, within scope, and within the budget.
Key Responsibilities & Requirements:
Evaluate project objectives and goals to develop detailed cost estimates and budgets for the projects.
Oversee cost planning and management of projects, including estimating, budgeting, cost control measures, subcontract packages, appointments, and material procurement.
Prepare and evaluate tender documents, including contract conditions, bills of quantities, and subcontractor packages.
Prepare updated cost reports, providing project managers and stakeholders with insights into cost performance.
Implement effective cost control measures to monitor project expenditures and identify issues and present reliable solutions.
Participate in project meetings, providing expertise and insights on cost management issues and strategies.
Lead and mentor the QS and Trainee QS, fostering collaborative and supportive team environment.
Degree in Quantity Surveying/Commercial Management or related field.
5+ years of experience in Quantity Surveying within construction, preferably in Fit Out & Refurbishment projects.
Prominent level of accuracy and attention to detail in all aspects of quantity surveying and reporting.
Proficiency in Quantity Surveying software and tools.
Excellent negotiation, problem solving and communication skills.
