Competitive Salary 

We are assisting a Tier 1 Main Contractor with a turnover of over £150 million in their search for a driven, motivated, and experienced Managing Surveyor for projects valued at £100 million Cut & Carve Refurbishment with high specification Fit Out. As Managing Surveyor, you will be responsible for the commercial management of the project, ensuring cost control, procurement, contract administration, and value maximisation. 

Key Responsibilities & Requirements:    

Prepare detailed cost estimates, budgets, and financial plans for the project performing cost analysis and value engineering to optimise project costs without compromising on quality. 

Oversee the preparation, negotiation, and management of contracts and subcontract with clients, contractors, and suppliers ensuring that all contractual obligations are met, and manage any variations or changes to the contract, including pricing adjustments.  

Prepare and evaluate tender documents, including contract conditions, bills of quantities, and subcontractor packages. 

Identify, assess, and manage financial and contractual risks associated with projects and ensure that all issues are addressed without delay. 

Prepare regular financial reports, including cash flow forecasts, estimates, and budget variance analyses and provide accurate and timely financial data to project managers and stakeholders to support informed decision-making.  

Manage the procurement process for subcontractors, materials, and services, assess suppliers, negotiate terms, conditions, and ensure that all procurements are cost-effective and delivered on time.  

Ensure that all financial and contractual activities comply with relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards, implementing and maintaining quality control processes to ensure the accuracy and reliability of cost estimates and financial reports.  

Lead and mentor a team of 5-7 surveyors, providing guidance, training, and support to ensure high performance and continuous professional development.  

Degree in Quantity Surveying or related field.  

5+ years of experience in Surveying within construction, preferably in cut and carve, fit out, refurbishment, design and build main contractor projects.  

Prominent level of accuracy and attention to detail in all aspects of quantity surveying and reporting.  

Strong understanding of JCT and D&B traditional forms of contracts. 

Strong analytical skills with the ability to assess complex financial data and make informed decisions. 

Proficiency in Surveying software and tools. 

Excellent negotiation, problem solving and communication skills.
