Mandatory Internship on the advanced materials

Mode of Employment: Limited; Full time only

You will work in a team analyzing advanced materials, such as ceramic thermal barrier coatings for gas turbines and metallic contact materials for high-voltage switches You will learn how to measure physical properties such as thermal and electrical conductivity, specific heat and density You will prepare samples for microscopy, and record and analyze their microstructure You will support the analysis and documentation of the measurement results The duration of the internship is based on university regulations and should be at least 3 months Our range of tasks is broad and you are encouraged to try new things

What you need to make real what matters.

You are currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree program in materials science, mechanical engineering, chemistry or a related subject Preferably you already have experience working in a laboratory or doing other practical work You are comfortable using Excel and PowerPoint Personally, you impress us with a high level of initiative, analytical thinking as well as a structured and independent way of working You have good English and/or German skills

Duration of the internship is based on university regulations.
