As the Manufacturing Engineer – Purchasing, you will lead the technical development of the supplier to ensure the component method of manufacture is both stable and capable and ensures the flow down of regulatory and product integrity requirements.

Key Accountabilities:

Ensuring product integrity for component or system is delivered through alignment of method of manufacture with design intent by interfacing with the appropriate design engineering organizationUtilizing technical packages used to establish best practices  and influencing commodity strategies and sourcing decisions with technical knowledgeConducting and validating relevant STEP assessments (Manufacturing Capability Assessments or Technical Oversight - Special Process) for new and existing supply chainsFacilitating the development and implementation of new manufacturing technologies and ensuring method of manufacture for new components are developed which meet the customers' requirements for quality, cost, delivery and responsiveness, and ensuring the level of performance is sustainableValidating the suppliers method of manufacture and capability, through deployment of FAIR process and / or metallurgical evaluationApproving component airworthiness through the processing of critical data associated with component definition, associated specifications, and compliance to Rolls-Royce procedures Educating and coaching suppliers in the application of relevant specifications and SABRe

Basic Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Engineering with 2+ years of experience in Manufacturing Engineering, ORMaster's degree in Engineering, ORJD/PhDMust be a US Citizen

Preferred Qualifications:

Demonstrated ability to discuss both technical and business issues with all levels of management within the supply chain and Rolls-RoyceExperience bringing diverse groups together to resolve technical issues and problems and perform root cause analysisUnderstanding of metal removal and processing of Aerospace componentsKnowledge of FAIR (First Article Inspection Report) processesPractical knowledge of source/method change and classified parts controlMachine Tool ProgrammingGreen Belt CertificationKnowledge of new production introduction, PPAP, APQPAbility to travel up to 25%Electronics experience
