The role serves as a relationship manager to assigned Practice Areas within HR. The role provides strategic consulting to HR leadership, project leads and department heads, and develops project plans to support global HR programs and local communication strategies. This position works in an energetic team setting, balances multiple priorities and may manage the work of others, directly or indirectly. The role reports to the Director, HR Communications. **WHAT YOU’LL DO** The Manager, HR Communications EMEA: + Serve as a regional center of excellence for HR personnel and functions across the region or globally. + Develop communication strategies and plans to guide the creation, design and implementation of communication programs specific to the region, including for benefits programs, restructures, business re-organization. + Advise and support area HR leaders with key communications. + Ensure all HR Communications are consistent and aligned with Abbott's corporate brand identity, employment offering, strategic direction, business and leadership philosophies, employer branding and employee value proposition. + Participate in efforts to support and increase employee engagement in the region and in key markets, in collaboration with employee communications and marketing teams. + Develop communication strategies and plans to guide the creation, design and implementation of communication campaigns and channels to reach employees in various workplace settings, such as manufacturing, field and offices. + Effectively manage relationships with internal and external communication partners (Public Affairs, Corporate Communications, HR personnel, outside contractors, etc.). + Work with HR Communication team members to ensure a cohesive approach to the comprehensive, global HR Communications strategy. **EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE YOU’LL BRING** + Bachelor’s degree, preferably in journalism, public relations or other communication-related major. + 6-10 years of experience with increasing responsibility in multiple communication roles in corporate or agency setting. + Experience working with senior management is preferred. + Demonstrated ability to deliver strategic counsel as well as tactical excellence in employee communications, executive communications and relationship management. + Prior experience with HR communications preferred. + Requires strong project management skills, exceptional verbal and written communication skills, diplomacy, learning agility, and multitasking ability. + Some marketing experience is preferred.
