Role Summary:

The successful candidate will be responsible for operating manual and CNC machining equipment, including making program edits on CNC machines. They will ensure components meet precise print dimensions and tolerances while using measuring tools such as micrometers, calipers, and scales. The role requires maintaining a safe and organized work environment, contributing to safety and efficiency improvements, and accurately completing associated paperwork. The candidate should have 3-5 years of experience, strong math skills, the ability to interpret mechanical drawings, and a solid understanding of G-code or conversational programming. Preferred experience includes working with cast materials, rigging, and machining stainless alloys.

This is a 1st Shift Position.

Responsibilities Include:

Setup and operation of manual and/or CNC machining equipmentAbility to make program edits at the machine for CNC equipmentMachining of components to meet print dimensions and tolerancesAccurate parts measurement using tools such as, but not limited toOutside micrometerInside micrometerDepth micrometerDigital, dial and vernier calipersScalesMaintaining an organized and safe work environment and help to drive improvements in the work center that will lead to increases in safety and efficiencyAccurately completing all paperwork associated with tasks being performedKeeping up to date with all required trainingsWorking on a variety of parts and processes and may work across multiple machinesCan resolve most problems and questions within a defined set of parametersMay provide guidance to lower-level employees

Requirements:

Typically 3 – 5 years’ experience doing similar workUnderstands and buys into a zero-accident safety culture expectationStrong shop math skills including arithmetic, conversion of fractions to decimals, basic trigonometryAbility to read and interpret mechanical/production drawings including tolerancingFor CNC machines, a strong understanding of G-code and / or conversational programmingPrecision Measuring tools experienceKnowledge of fixturing and safe / effective work holding

Preferred Experience / Skills:

Experience working with cast materialsExperience with basic rigging and use of overhead cranesFirm understanding of turning and milling insert geometries and gradesUnderstanding of basic cut conditions including appropriate feeds, speeds and depths of cutPrevious experience machining stainless alloys

Site Specific Details:

First shift positions Monday thru Friday, 06:30-1500Second shift hours Monday thru Friday, 14:45-23:15Overtime as required (required overtime will have 36 hour notice)
