Volt is immediately hiring for Manual Machinist in Houston, Texas.

\r\n\r\n

As an Manual Machinist you will:

\r\n\r\n\r\n\tSet up and operate equipment, performing manual machining operations as assigned by the foreman.\r\n\tWork with Bridgeport Mills, Horizontal Boring Mill, and lathe (small and large machines).\r\n\tMachine features on metal parts ranging from .500” to over 84” in diameter.\r\n\tUse hand tools such as micrometers, calipers, scales, height gauges, and gauge blocks to perform in-process inspections.\r\n\tCreate and execute machining plans with little or no assistance.\r\n\tHold close tolerances of .001” and finishes of 32RMS or better.\r\n\tRead and understand blueprints and convert metric to inches.\r\n\tFollow written and oral instructions.\r\n\tConduct in-process inspections.\r\n\tStand, climb, kneel, and lift up to 40 lbs.\r\n\tWear PPE at all times and observe health, safety, and environmental policies.\r\n\tComplete necessary documentation for each job, including filling out travelers and nonconformance reports.\r\n\tNotify Foremen of equipment problems and any non-conforming material.\r\n\tMaintain a clean and safe work area.\r\n\r\n\r\n

\r\n\r\n

The ideal candidate will have:

\r\n\r\n\r\n\tA minimum of 5 years of experience in manual machining (not just CNC).\r\n\tProduct familiarity and at least 2 years of experience in a similar work environment.\r\n\tAbility to read, write, and speak English.\r\n\tHigh school diploma or GED (preferred).\r\n\tOwn basic machinist tools.\r\n\tAbility to operate a forklift and overhead crane.\r\n\tReliability and punctuality.\r\n\r\n\r\n

Pay Rate: $25.00 - $35.00 per hour
