POSITION TITLE: Manufacturing Cell Leader Days (5:30am to 2:30pm) HOURLY PAY RANGE: $26.00 - $30.00 SHIFT HOURS: 5:30AM - 2:30PM LOCATION: Onsite at LSI Solutions in Victor, NY JOB SUMMARY: The Manufacturing Cell Lead is responsible for ensuring the assigned manufacturing cell is actively engaged to meet production schedule. The Manufacturing Cell Lead provides effective training and coaching to the assigned team and ensures safety and quality standards are maintained at all times. Promote a work environment that is positive, safe, that seeks to continuously improve, and is focused on keeping the cell in operation, meeting the goals and objectives of the organization. This individual will be responsible for directly supervising the hourly employees and ensuring a motivated and skilled workforce. The Cell Lead functions as the owner of and primary advocate for the cell's and the staff's performance. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: + Ensure all assigned manufacturing employees understand and follow quality and safety system requirements. + Ensure the line is staffed adequately; filling in when needed. + Expert knowledge in all aspects of their cells and the ability to function in those roles when needed. + Serve as flexible resource in activities such as getting supplies and components when needed. + Understanding of their cell’s desired cycle time and the responsibility to pace the line accordingly. + Provide feedback on the above items to the manufacturing and quality liaisons as needed. + Ensure the cell has adequate inventory; provide physical support to keep the line running. + Understanding the technical aspects of their cell and ensure all equipment is operating to those standards; ensure scheduled and non-scheduled PMs and calibrations occur as needed. + Understand the production schedule and ensure adherence to it. + Act as the primary advocate for the cell’s staff and the cell’s overall performance. + Provide feedback to and demand accountability from the cell’s manufacturing and quality liaisons. + Ensure all records are completed appropriately. + Ensure that non-conforming material is clearly identified and segregated. + Ensure that the escalation procedure for quality/productivity concerns is followed. + Manage work order closures, line clearance and stock control transactions (MRP). + Monitor change over and/or line set up efficiency and prepare line set-ups for following shifts. + Review incoming work orders and prepare for production; review applicable Quality Alerts, DRs, DCRs and NCMRs, and assist with print out required forms and labels as needed. + Track of consumables inventory. Inform Production Technician and Supervisor when ordering is needed. ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES: + Ensure full adherence to 6S (Sort, Set in Order, Shine, Standardize, Sustain, Safety) practices at all times. + Assess team member skill levels, ensure appropriate training is provided and maintain and coach to develop a high level of cross-training. + Assist in employee attendance tracking and employee performance evaluation. + To ensure efficient operation of our business, you may be required to work overtime as needed in addition to your regular work schedule. Overtime may include work outside your normal scheduled days. + Lead shift KPI’s performance tracking, and all other team communication meetings. + Adhere to all Company policies and procedures per the LSI Solutions Employee Manual. + All other duties as assigned. EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE: + 2 to 4 years of experience in a lead role in a manufacturing environment or 3 to 5 years executing the manufacturing process, preferably in the medical device or other regulated industry. + High School Diploma or GED. + Technical background is preferred. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES: + Excellent communication and motivational skills, both written and verbal. + Initiative and hands-on ability to stand on the line all shift watching every operation step, pacing the line and open attitude to covering any open position to hit goals and to promote strong teamwork. + Outstanding organizational and time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines. + Able to work independently with minimum supervision as well as alongside team members. + Ability to lead by example, gain respect from team and communicate with clarity whilst demonstrating excellence in approach to work and people activities. + Some technical aptitude, troubleshooting skills, and good problem-solving capabilities. + Good computer skills: experience in using an ERP or MRP preferred and familiar with MS Office suite is required. + All other duties as assigned.
